It is impossible to send merit to yourself. If you try, you will be met with an error message stating: "You cannot send merit to yourself".

If you are asking whether you can merit posts in a thread you started, the answer is yes, that is allowed.

If you are asking whether you can use alt accounts to merit your own posts, although not against the rules per se, you may end up with negative trust on your account if you get caught.

Anyway, @o_e_l_e_o has chipped-in with the most feasible interpretations of your question, but I’d like to add on top of that, that you currently have 1 Merit and 0 sMerits (*) to send to others, so in practical terms you really can’t send sMerits to anybody just yet.

(*) For every 2 Merits you get, you are additionally awarded 1 sMerit (sendable Merit). You send from your sMerit counter (never from your Merit counter).Your sMerit counter is visible after you press the Merit button, on the screen where you determine the amount of sMerit to send.

No, it isn't. And I don't quite understand the reason for Rifat0099 to send you a merit for asking a question in B&H. It would have been understandable if I could find him somewhere in that thread being thankful to you for getting the question, which he was also seeking the answer to, answered but I failed in that.

Didn't you merit yourself with your alt and now doing what kids usually do? They do something which they later think is maybe wrong, and they try inquire about it.

It wouldn't make sense. I mean whole merit system with this ability would be so flawed it would collapse.
Merit system is actually well balanced, users adapting to it and overall it works well.

I presume you are asking if you can give a out merits in a thread you created, to which the answer is yes, so long as you are not the author of the post you wish to merit.

i think by "in" it is clear that he is referring to posts "in" his posts/topics.

the answer is YES.

but you should spend your merit on quality posts, if people see you giving merits for shitposts, you are unlikely to get any more merits.

but if a reply to your posts is worth the merit then yes you can.

Your idea is very creative, I don't have this idea yet. However, I estimate that it should not be allowed, otherwise it should be a bug.
