can anyone explain what the buy or sell price example 0.0008754 in dummy terms what it is and what it represents and how to do the math. i am like days in this and figured most im just not sure how to do the math cause i dont know what the price fraction mean or represent . at the time of writing this EOS/BTC is 0.0006835  $2.62 sometimes green sometimes red i know what the colors means i know what the value means $2.62 usd figure for 1 EOS coin unless thats wrong but cant understand how the math works on the 0.0006835 and what this is for or what it represents. any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

The  0.0006835 means the value in BTC terms per EOS. So you are looking at the EOS/BTC trading pair.
 0.0006835 BTC = 2.62 dollar, so that matches the dollar price which is displayed.

You are right that you should not compare these two coins. they are different and perform different functions. Both coins are very strong fundamentally and have great support from the community. therefore, it would be better to have both of them in your investment portfolio

Most of coins in CMC are represent the bitcoin trading pair and you should know about that. All what you need is only to check the price of bitcoin and then try to calculate how much price of coin in bitcoin term with the price of bitcoin in the dollar terms.

You can't buy, as far as I know, USD/eos or any other Fiat / eos. So you need to buy BTC first, so them you can buy eos using this rate you said (0.0006)...

So go, buy BTC and then buy eos with it (if that's what you want)

0.0006835 value of eos on bitcoin, is depends on the last transactions of eos in bitcoin pair my friend
and the price in USD of eos is depends on btc price in USD terms,, there is no complicated formula
just keep it simple

It's exactly like BestWebCreator has written, but you also have to be careful about different prices on different exchanges.
However, it would be best if you started to learn about differences between pairs based on something easier - for example EUR/BTC -> ETH/USD -> USD/BTC. I think that with this pairs you will understand that easier.

I am also confused about it when I first try to buy altcoins using BTC. But the value really is depending on the BTC not USD. But if you want some much more price friendly look, you can try EOS/USDT, but that is quite just near, not actual dollar price.
