Forum needs altcoin > project development

Hi,

There is no Altcoin > Project development?

I noticed a pinned post is Bitcoin >  Project development that states people shouldn't post non-bitcoin related development talk there, and says it should be posted in non existent altcoin > project development.

It seems to be hard for people to read, but this is "Bitcoin > Project Development" and not "Alternate cryptocurrencies > Project Development"

There is lack of more specific altcoin boards in general. I agree with your suggestion to add altcoin project development section, also sections like technical support and begginers & help. Similar suggestions were made in past, but nothing has been done. Probably theymos have his own reasons to not create such child boards. Maybe there are just not enough demand for it.

As long as I understand, you are not prohibited to discuss your project that is in development and if it involves blockchain in it, but it is just that you are now allowed to post ANNs or ICOs or bounties and such in there since there are already subsections for these things in Alternative Cryptocurrencies subforum.

Not sure why there is no Technical Support section for Alternative Cryptocurrencies, maybe because they are too many and it won't be possible to give each one of them a different subsection for their Technical problems and solutions, but a possibility would be to only make one subsection in Alternative Cryptocurrencies subforum where all the technical questions regarding any of the alternative cryptocurrencies would be posted and discussed.
About Beginners & Help-- it is not placed in Bitcoin subforum but is in the Others section, so it is not only for Bitcoin subforum users but it can be used for both Alternative and Bitcoin subforum posters/users.

The pinned post in Project development says Altcoin related threads (including ICO's) and ANN's do not belong here But most of the threads created in that section belongs to altcoins and it keep discussing in that section itself because of no moderator in that section so if you want you can post about your project on that section but having specific section for altcoin will be more appreciated.

Yeah, it's in Others section, but even theymos said that he aren't against making Begginers & help child board in altcoin section. For me it's not an issue, but some of members are annoyed to see non bitcoin related stuf in B&H board, especially threads about bounties, airdrops and similar.

That is not the appropriate board to post altcoin rrlated subjects, and the lack of moderation does not make it so.
For now there are a lot of discussion boards merged into the general altcoin discussion board, and until theres an update, that's the appropriate board to discuss project developments for alternative currencies.

Majority of the threads in Project Development (bitcoin) lacks moderation. I would like admins to actually take a dedicated moderator for that section than a new altcoins project development.

Coming back to topic, if we look into the probably topics for this "hypothetical" thread then I can only think of ICO projects, bounties and DApp development as potential threads.
Now ICOs will have ANNs for announcement but development will not be discussed here because of potential copyright and "He stole my idea" stuff. Recruiting new members for projects comes under "Services" and we have a board for that already.

Bounty projects do not need any development whatsoever. They are plain and simple and moreover the managers would not want to discuss their development in public.

DApps development is a totally different ballgame and there are complete forums for that altogether.

Hence I would say this is a redundant and non-essential suggestion. Besides we are a bitcoin forum not an altcoin one.
