This would be exciting and do hope that it will lighten up for the people who aren't believing on ethereum. Many were leaving when eth price drastically fall and also caused many ICOs to fail. And as of what it shown for now,  it is really impressive and it shown to us how strong is Ethereum.

Icos are booming because of eth because most of the icos' platform is based on eth's platform. Eth will not dissapoint it's investors for eth will never fail us. People who says eth is dying is only spreading fud because they lost so much last year.

It has been considered from the first time, Ethereum is the best crypto after BTC. However, because of the drop price so far, it has been seemly collapsing so that many people lose hope and trust of the coin. However, I also do believe that this ethereum is still the best altcoin, hopefully it will really have its great value again, at least in $500

With ethereum back at no. 2 spot in markwt capitalization and with the lineup of upgrades starting from 2019 to 2020, ethereum is definitely considered as the king of altcoins. The upgrades might be the events that trigger the ethereum bull run.

Let's wait for hardfork. In the past, it has already been announced this hardfork and at the last moment it was postponed. If this time, something similar happened, the price can go hardly down.

Postponed for better reasons ? I wonder if this proof of stake could be really an improved version. Proof of work did take a lot from miners and was moving towards specialized units like bitcoin did and so forth but stake doesn't really have a long term benefit of pace like miners had.

Miners could get bigger and bigger and allow more and more transactions whereas stake needs to technologically improved because the amount of coin on wallets staking can't get past a certain level hence it would be difficult to support too many transactions after a while.

Miners are in theory unlimited, you can turn every single computer in the world into ethereum miners which is insane but at least shows in theory it becomes so big that you can have 100 billion dollars changing hand and not have a single second stop whereas stake has a limit. Ethereum is faaaar away from those troubles right now but I just hope it won't cause that type of troubles in the distant future.

Of course ,  I think Ethereum is the King of all altcoins. Basically king of ICO. Most of the ICO use ethereum platform. Ethereum is very popular and  trusted coin. I trust it after bitcoin.

I remember, 5 years ago before ETH on 2nd position, LTC become the king of all altcoin.
And yes, I was amaze that ETH able reach 2nd position over many years recently but in the future, I won't be surprise if one day ETH get replace or even replace Bitcoin on top 1 because this is cryptocurrency where impossible become possible !

yes you are right, ethereum is more accurately said to be the king of ICO. there are many ico projects that use the blockchain ethereum. but ethereum can also be said to be the mother of Shit coin on the market today. there are many shit coins that have no value on the market, the average coin is the result of a scam project or a failure.

Ever since XRP took over the 2nd position, i knew it was not going to last. The updates that were being announced were just taking profits.

Inasmuch as cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is concerned, decentralization will always take the lead, because that was the purpose of creating blockchain.

This is just the beginning. The Bakkt approval has not yet been lunched, other proposed milestones have not started and this is happening (eth on position 2).

What if the updates are eventually integrated, we might see ethereum at 0.05 BTC per ETH.

As long as the price of ethereum rises, he is the king of altcoins.   
That he is back on place 2 can come to the small hype about the upcoming constantinople update. I am curious how the price behaves after the update.

It is obviously known fact that ethereum is best tool in order to get idea about altcoins and new projects(ICO). Almost  altcoin prices are depend on one factor which stabilize this change. In my opinion this year a lot of altcoins will disappear due to low marketcap and decreasing interest but ethereum will keep it's role in this industry till get replaced with better alternative.

You have forgotten the fact that ethereum has been operating since 2015 and already then had real results. Throughout 2017, ethereum was in second position, so what is happening now is not surprising.

Yes, right, the fact is that the history of ETH coins towards the ICO project has the greatest potential with a strong ERC-20 platform and token. It was obvious that ICO were dumping for $$$ funding. Price was not realistic so smart people accumulated.
