I was a bit more behind the curve for some but I remember hearing about bitcoin as early as 2011/2012 thanks to an NPR podcast where the hosts involved themselves in a bitcoin buying experiment. They were pretty crushed when the price fell from like one dollar to 25 cents, but obviously they'd be millionaires now if they retained their stash.
The second time I heard about it was when I listened to Andreas Antonopoulos on the Joe Rogan Experience in mid to late 2013. From then on I was hooked. The guy just made bitcoin sound so exciting and transformative, and he was right. I wonder how many other people here got the bitcoin bug thanks to Joe Rogan and AA... Hard to believe that was 5 and a half years ago now, time flies...

I think you might have your dates wrong. But welcome to the community! One and a half years ago (June 2017) the price of Bitcoin was ~$2,600. Two and a half years ago (June 2016) the price of Bitcoin was ~$600. And Three and a half years ago (June 2015) the price of Bitcoin was ~$250. |

My encounter with bitcoin was from a friend as at then I was recovering from the ponzi schemes I had participated in and was duped so, I have no intentions of being a part of bitcoin not until I had him convince me of how true and real it was. My earnings form bitcoin has been fair enough, My knowledge I have learned a lot and am still in the learning process. wallets so far myetherwallet thanks

I really can't believe it's been so long. I think that bitcoin will continue to develop and bring a lot of useful in our lives.
I learned about bitcoin from a friend. The minimum amount for which I bought bitcoin is $ 100. I don't want to talk about big losses and winnings. Exchange I use the same as everyone else, wallet - blockchain.info, MEW. Besides bitcoin I keep Ethereum, XYO, UBEX, MVL and some other altcoins.

With just almost a year on this forum, a lot of stories to be told but I rather keep it to myself. However, I can say that stories like mine is just common to every investors or bitcoin holders. Getting some losses in trading and having some hard time in decision making.
Everyone has their own story and according to this strategies some to then are good and some are worst but it is because of their own mistakes. We should gain experience which is possible only by trying harder. The more you will invest at 20k will be good price according to me. Right now is good to buy selling now is not good decision. |

My first encountered in bitcoin was year 2016 when my friend introduce it to me and they are telling me to try to enter in cryptocurrency. Well, I can not remember what is the highest and lowest price I bought because I buy when I am contented to the current price. Everyday, I learned so much in cryptocurremcy because of the shared knowledge of other users. For me, I am using a good and safe wallet to store of coins and I only have 2 coins in my wallet. |

I got to know bitcoin in 2017 when I worked in a city and I got a bitcoin at a price of as low as $2,300 and I risked my bitcoin at $11300 until now it hasn't returned,
to exchange bitcoin I use bittrex and the coins that I have other than bitcoin are Ethereum, Stellar, Cardano, NEM

In 2013, I learned about Bitcoin. In 2014 I opened the account at the first coinbase. But in the year 2018 I first know about this forum. Then I went to work with it roughly. Then began to learn how it works and my interest goes out further. I first paid BTC $ 6,200 and ether ki 650 dollars. Then started the work in Bounty. I have not achieved any such big success yet. But after this I'll be working for this platform as long as I live.

This is a wonderful day and it shows that a lot has been done over these 10 years and Bitcoin has a future.
This is really nice and in 10 years it has changed a lot for people who had become millionaire and billionaire by now through crypto currency. It could potentially change the future as well if countries does approve and accept it as a payment mode in their country. |

First of all I wanna say happy birthday to our honeybadger, Bitcoin! My wish for it is to achieve a new ATH in 2019! I had my first interaction with the crypto space in 2014 when I bought some GH/s from cex.io. Those were some nice times. I am buying bitcoin everytime I have some spare cash lying around and trading it currently on Deribit with my friend, "Lev". ) I won't list here all the altcoins I own by I'll shout one thing: GO STRATIS!  |
