Blue screen crash (Win 10) when trying AMD GPU mining software (VIDEO_TDR_*)

Has anyone managed to avoid the blue screen of death issue with Windows 10, when trying to mine with AMD GPU mining software?

It's a VIDEO_TDR_* something problem.  Suggested solutions include keeping software up to date and using the latest drivers, which I have done, but I keep crashing (Phoenix Miner, Claymore, others).  I tried ETC mining, but I think what I need to download for my modest AMD mobile GPU is too large and I am unable to mine.  I have a mobile AMD Radeon Vega card (gfx902).

I would like to mine a small amount of something, anything really, where a good AMD GPU miner is available.  Currently only a version of sgminer 5.3.8 seems to work without crashing my system.

And of course, a little at a time, so I don't overheat or destroy the longevity of my laptop.  If it lasts for 6 months or longer mining an hour or two a day, I consider this acceptable; by then I will have just bought a desktop with bigger cards to mine with, and some small ASICs on power boards, and a new laptop that I won't mine with just to get other stuff done. 

If anyone knows how to avoid this VIDEO_TDR_* error with Win10 when trying to use an AMD GPU to mine, I would love to hear your experiences and how to work around this problem, if it's possible at all.  Otherwise I think I will just CPU mine for a little each day for PASC (Pascal Coin).  Thank you!

Mobile for laptop ? If yes, this is the answer, mining on a laptop is not recommended as it overheats the components causing the common blue or green screen of death. Never mine with a laptop, and a closed desktop is not the solution either. If you want to mine always use an open air rig, you can find really cheap ones on ebay now.

It seems to me that you have to reinstall AMD drivers using clean install option. There was some crash that damaged your files.

I think that's right, I can mine for a little while, just making sure it doesn't overheat.  The drivers are a problem.  I am not sure which drivers to install though, perhaps not the latest ones that might come with the AMD APP SDK, which I was using for OpenCL stuff.

I will try the clean install and see if I can get them working.  My card is apparently supported so it should be okay with the right drivers.  Thanks for your thoughts, I was thinking the same.  It always seems to be the drivers, even for my friend who has two rigs with 4x RX580 cards on both.
