I usually say I am well established respected miner.

Send me the demo machine upfront I will test it run a you tube video showing works.

I will then buy the gear if I like or I will ship it back to them or ship it where ever they want it shipped.

It's the demo's I am becoming worried about if they know they can send say 5 units out to x5 big names in the youtube or mining game and get a good review then scam the others coming to buy the machine it seems to be the "latest" tactic I know a couple of youtube channels that were sent wallets to test out they sucked and were built of some sketchy version of android!  

I fear we will see this move into the hardware space soon.

Let’s not forget how Vosk got review units from AsicMiner (clear scam) and didn’t advise anyone to steer clear. I wouldn’t count him among those you would trust for miner reviews, more like someone who would make a video proving something ‘exists’

He took it apart and ultimately proved it was a fake.

And he mentioned it went to a server website and was not sure if that was good.

I saw his thread and his videos on that gear. He was not terrible as you write.  But and this is a big but he should have been harder on them for the sake of people that don’t fully understand mining.
  So I understand your concern.
My concern is this not good gear and that 1400 watts for 40th  is too good to be true.
The video on YouTube is not good enough to convince me it is not a variation of the asicminer scam.

To those that  do not understand the asicminer scam.

The miner must mine to a server website and it proxies you to the pool you pick.

So you are pointing to a site like nicehash  which can add on lots of hash so that your miner shows 40th  your power meter shows 1400 watts and you are like damn  this is great.

After scammer sells a few hundred  units.  He shuts down the server and you have a brick.

too bad Norm was auto-banned probably for plagiarism, the members on the mining board are very a few and you notice a missing person quite fast unlike other boards where there are thousands of shitpostsers, I hope that @frodocooper will add a rule on the pinned topic to notify members that copy-paste without quotation = permaban from the forum, i doubt that members bother reading the forum rules anyway, but it will at least save some good souls.

I think he may have been changling poster on the YouTube link.

As the post on YouTube was removed.
If he did not remove the changling post on YouTube someone did remove it.

That means changling was looking here and pulled his post.
Or someone here contacted changling and asked him to pull his post.

To go further I do think the YouTube video is a scam.

We have had more then one proxy miner scam and I think this may be another one.

Well during bear it's a small community here. This "hardware" had a number of red flags regardless if Norm is/was anything than their presentation here.

40/80TH at 1400 wats is differently most likely fake ,  not even old players in the market are able to make such asic with the available technology, without digging any deeper it's safe to assume they are just another scam.

unless a trusted member who knows how to test if the hashrate is real or just a fake hashing power redirected by the manufacture for x period of time, then i am willing to bet the house that these guys are scam as hell.

I'm not sure why people jump onto a blatantly obvious scam and start asking for miners.

I guess it means more people will try doing the same type of scam.
