Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I'll guess that most people who own BTC don't care what the US Govt or its agencies think.
That's part of the point of owning BTC.

This isn't fake news, but it is old news, nearly a year old.

Although it can't be checked on site right now because of the US Gov shutdown, reddit reported a revision to this

Quote from: edited to
8.1.2 Bitcoin Cash (BCH or BCC1)

In 2017, Bitcoin users adopted an improvement proposal for Segregated Witness (known as SegWit, where transactions are split into two segments: transactional data, and signature data) through a soft fork. SegWit made it possible to store transactional data in a more efficient form. However, a group of users had different opinions on how Bitcoin should evolve – and developed a hard fork of the Bitcoin blockchain titled Bitcoin Cash. Rather than implementing the SegWit changes, the developers of Bitcoin Cash decided to increase the maximum blocksize (additionally the developers made changes to other aspects of the system, such as the difficulty adjustment algorithm). When the hard fork occurred, people had access to the same amount of coins on Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

I am sure that nobody cares what the US government has to say on this issue. And this has been settled many months ago so this can just be an old news. It is quite funny to think about it...why would we listen to the government on this topic when this is beyond their own coverage and comprehension. The most important thing is that people are paying the correct taxes when they earned something from the cryptocurrencies they are holding or trading.

I think the institute that has stated that must not be much familiar with the bitcoin and how blockchain and cryptocurrencies work or maybe they will be heavily paid by Roger ver to shill his coin nothing else.

BCH is the main source? This is the weirdest thing I've ever heard!
Bitcoin has hard-forked the BCH and now people say BCH is the source? I think it's just a joke, it's just entertaining.

Yes you are right I have to laugh it if you have a large amount of that coin you will shill to heaven and make it appear that it is the real one, if you preach fake news so many times, it will likely become truth but I don't buy this bullshit.

What tmfp updated is the most recent one and the applied one right now. Basically US government (even though literally none of us really care about) did saw bitcoin cash as the new bitcoin improved version (because how old they are and how difficult for them to understand even what bitcoin is) so it was temporary. Right now they did realized their mistakes and now working towards accepting bitcoin as bitcoin and not bitcoin cash as bitcoin.

However, no matter what the non-us based ones do not even remotely care about it and even the us based crypto people only care about their taxes and nothing else. Look at ohio for example, they are taking bitcoin as tax payments for crypto profits and they are not accepting bitcoin cash, they are only accepting bitcoin, which kinda shows you what is the accepted one and which one is not the accepted one.
