So to transfer over my transactions to another wallet after I realized armory is too complicated for the simple transactions I want to do, it asks me for a passphrase that it never asked me to input. Or at least I cannot remember being asked. I do have my wallet backed up digitally on my usb key, what can I do?

Simply create a new wallet using your backup.

Also.. you do have a paper backup too and not only a digital one, correct ?

I strictly encourage to NOT trust digital devices as the only type of backup. USB sticks can break.
Either by mechanical changes or simply trough too much voltage etc..

You should always keep your backup (armory root key) on a piece of paper.
