I didn't think we were supposed to reach the EPOCH where the 3GB cards stopped mining until the end of April, but all my GTX 1060 3GB cards stopped mining in the wee hours of the morning last night. Anyone else notice this on ETH?

Thanks,

Try to increase your virtual memory to 32/64 gb and I think you can also try other mining software like the above said latest version of claymore may solve the issue.

You can also try to use phoenix miner here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.0

I hope that helps.

Its only going to last till about the hardfork date I heard. You can net a few more days on 3GB cards but ETH is already past the 3GB limit. My 1070's show usage of 3100MB.

Claymore does fix the issue, but looking at the DAG size calculator it may be done near the end of January. Thanks.

I have known about Whalesburg mining but I can't keep calm, I prefer to share the opportunity with others who are also mining enthusiasts.
Whalesburg’s game-theoretic profit-switching algorithm automatically shifts hashrate to the most profitable coin. It dedicates a percentage of the pool's hashpower to different coins depending on the network difficulty, network hashpower, coin price and some magical values.
If you are looking for a good mining pool to start with, you can read more about Whalesburg and start with them.

There's going to be ProgPoW so soon 3GB should be able to mine ETH again.

Yeah, currently it does so to my mind it's time to sell GPUs with 3GB vram as soon as possible, personally I own gtx 1080ti for one year and I think I did well, roid 1/4 in 1-2 week in winter (it had greatest ROI for that time, you could ROI in 2 months but that situation didn't last for long and also bought GPU in normal price).
Also you can mine other coins, for example Energi is more profitable than Ethereum and BitTube(TUBE) is another great option too.

That's incorrect. When ProgPOW inherits the current DAG file limit. So at the time when ProgPOW hit it will be 3GB +. Recent Dev call discussing ProgPOW stated it.

days are counted for 1060 3gb. Maybe a week or so and ETH DAG will too big. Now im mining on HIVE with claymore 12 but not for long. Also Energi is supported only with 4+ GB cards. What is smart choise to mine with 1060 3gb?

My rigs on Windows 8.1 with Nvidia GTX1060 3 Gb cards stopped to work today with an error during creation of DAG file. I switched these rigs to Ravencoin.

If you want a better mine the results and with the favorable coin then try Whalesburg. These platforms give better results in mining where can choose a profitable coin. with a better algorithm certainly makes mine became more productive with the best coins.

Wondering what the impact will be at the end of January or so when none of the 3GB will be able to mine EThash anymore.

So far the hashrate has been pretty constant
https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

This is assuming the 1060 3GB people were using older versions of Claymore. Most likely I am thinking it will be minimal since most of the GPUs out there are the RX 470/480/570/580 which feature 4GB-8GB of GDDR but it should be interesting to see none the less.

Wonder if any people with R9 280X are still mining ETH since they are 3GB also but the speed is like 11MH/s last time I checked on mine.

My R9 280X gives only 7 mh/s, I'm using this card for Monero mining (450 h/s on XMRStack). R9 290 gives up to 24 mh/s at the moment. These cards can give more, but AMD drivers don't have support for big DAG size as they made for RX series.
