These are surely some valid points on the way gambling sites can operate but the issue is that, aside that the gambling site is outright ready for scams, I don't see why they would be involved in this kind of activities. Just like in the hospitals where of course they know the kind of drugs that would kill someone, they would not just engage in that kind of activities. I am not an expert at cryptography, but I think that passwords are hard to be hacked. As you said it is saved as a hash thus it is hard for them to break it. If you have used a simple password then it is your fault. I agree that on-chain betting is the best and the better is to be able to play by opening an extension in your browser (e.g. Metamask) and be able to gamble directly from it, without any username or password.

I see your point and I also agree that they can easily delete any account they wanted. However, even there are tendencies for this to happen, you still never heard a news having the same situation (very rare at least). You know why? It's because this is not a smart move and it never will be.

Okay, let's say that they deleted an account after they robbed 10 btc on particular user. Do you think that user will just remain silent? Of course not. For sure he will do anything to put the gambling site in controversy. As a result, many of their customers will doubt their credibility and now start to go away. At the same time they lose money which might be greater than on what they robbed that will lead them to bankruptcy.

They were never saying that passwords can be easily hacked. A scam site can claim that your account was hacked while in fact they changed the password by themselves. Changing a password and guessing one are two different things.
