I am trying to buy some BTC. I have £120 worth of paypal. Here is the topic: Have Paypal want BTC I was also looking for topics who are selling BTC so that I can ask them if they want to sell me. Then I saw this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5094924.0 (archive)

I was not entirely convinced but I thought I will give it a try. I have nothing to lose. So, I knocked him on skype. He said the minimum they will sell is 0.5BTC. I don't have that budget right now so I passed. But the guys offered me to help him to sell his BTC and in return he will give me $100 commission for each BTC I sell. I said ok and started to talk deep...

At some point here are our conversation:

Me: By the way can you sign an address stating today's date which has decent amount of BTC?
I want to ensue that I am in the right place. Hope it make sense

Him: yes sure just a minute i am taking screenshort

Me: Not screen shot. Give me an address which has the balance and sing the address to prove that you own the btc and the address

Him: we use our own server adress.like as coinbase and blockchain
we use our own adress

Me: give me an address to see the balance please

Him: oh dear you do not get me.i told you we use our own btc adress like as coinbase and blockchain.its our private adress we do not use 3rd party adress

you cant see it on google need to go darkweb

Me: What do you mean that I can not see it. why is blockchain explorer then?
for example my address does not have any balance you can see it.

Him: blockchain exploere is for visual and public btc wallet not for private wallet

but you can not see our any information in google

you need to go darkweb

coz we are private

me: tell me where to go
I can go to darkwab

Him: ok go dark web then search for it...........

i am giviing you adress

Me: ok

Him: 3DqHUxnLKyyxxaSRGjayNjatmjGWD7MRF

Me: The blockexplorer URL?

Him: you get nothing when come it you need to go this website :http://dhosting4okcs22v.onion

no it is not blockexplorer url

go this website and search this adress

then you see result

must use vpa otherwise hacker can destroy u

be carefull dear

Me: This is what I got: http://prntscr.com/m4su0n

Him: where you search it?

Me: Tor

Him: do you access for dark web?

Me: using tor yes i do

Him: hahaha dear tor is not darkweb access it only way to go darkweb

darkweb access is paid

Me: I mean I can go to the .onion websites

Him: going to onion site is not darkweb

its deepweb

darkweb access is restricted

Me: How do I get it then?

Him: if you want i will give you all no problem.but for this you need to learn it and we teach it but for that people pay us

Me: As fer as I know deepweb means anything protected with id password like your gmail or any kind of memberships

Him: but if you sale 1 btc or half btc we teach it and give all link

yes in dark web all is protected

like as gmail

normal people can not access it

Me: well how do I believe that you really have BTC
thats my whole point
Do me a favor... I will be loyal to you if you are loyal. Make me believe that you have the BTC

Him: we do not tell lie and we are hacker not hocker.in our business trust it only one thing

if you want i can give you my server adress picture with date

Me: How about we create a 2/2 multiSig you and me hold the BTC there. If we sell then we both sign the btc to the buyer?
Let's start with 1 BTC? or whatever amount you want?
2/2 MultiSig wallet. You hold one key and me hold another.
send the btc to the MultiSig wallet.
what do u think?

Him: do first deal with us and if you sale one btc then we make your life promise

Me: That's what I am talking

Him: without darweb is risky for us

we need to hide our identity

try to understant.i think you are well educated

Me: Send the BTC to the 2/2 multiSig we both hold it. Once I sell whatever amount we sign the transaction
Why don't you use a mixer then

Him: if we come out google then coinbase company give first case fot us

Me: - Use the mixer
- Send the btc to the 2/2
- Once I sell sign the transaction

I will know I am not wasting my time

Him: last time we hack 56  btc from coinbase transaction

Me: I don't trust third party. I don't trust anyone. I trust BTC

Him: yes i know.but we are helpless

if you can trust us then you will be gainer 100% guaranty

and if you can not trust us then we are sorry coz we can not create trust to u

Me: I need to know you have the BTC and what I understand is that if a address has balance then it will be visible to the explorer. But you are saying me whole lot of new stuffs
I feel fool

Him: not new suffs.you can not think like us coz you hear it first time

in past you know blockexploer

you did not hear private network or ccount

you have not any idea about darkweb bitcoin wallet

Me: BTC is not completely anonymous

Him: thats why you feel fool

just do one busness with us i promise and god promise you get everything

ok for you believe

Me: I am not sure at this stage. Non of your talks make sense to me. All I can offer is to use a 2/2 MultiSig wallet you send the BTC there then we do business. You can use Mixers before sending the BTC in the 2/2 wallet. So you keep your anonymity

Him: half payment first and half after send btc....now you can believe

i think

daer you can  not thinking about darkweb wallet

Me: Please stop making me fool. I do have decent knowledge about the entire blockchain system.
If you really is what you are talking then come to this 2/2 agreement
I can sell you BTC

Him: opps dear blockchain is not like darkweb wallet

Me: At-least have this deal first
if $2000 is your BTC rate then sell £120 worth of BTC to me

Him: we do not sell thats small ammount btc

but if you pay us with payoneer then we can give you it

for your trust

Me: 0.07656 btc for £120 which is around $153.12
I have paypal.

Him: sorry dear then we cant

Me: Dont make it too difficult. I can buy BTC from anyone but I am asking you to see what you can offer.
I need to see that you are the guy who are talking that you can
I make it very easier for you.

Him: yes you can but you do not get this price anywhere

Me: send 0.07656BTC to the 2/2 MultiSig => give me you paypal => I send paypal => we both sign the btc to my own wallet from 2/2 MultiSig
Yeah how about I want to buy 0.5 BTC which is 1000$.
I pay $500 in advance
expecting you will send 0.5BTC
then you disappear for good.

I lose $500

Him: hahahahaha you can not trust us

ok dear sorry for waste your time

you are little bit interested thats why i tell you whole thing

Me: Don't ask me to trust anyone while I am a BTC user

Him: but i do not tell this all to my client

Me: BTC does not teach to turst third party
Sorry mate. I am wasting my time with you

Him: but hacker do not break trust just mind it dear

sorry dear

Me: I am not a hacker so I don't know the culture

Him: thanks for your time

Me: Talk to me thinking that I am a regular guy

Him: no dear

we do not fake so we treat everyone like as a client

ok what other account you have without paypal?

Me: No I don't

He left me two more message that's it.

Now I am thinking am I really ignorant about how BTC works?

Please someone enlighten me.

PS: Feel free to see me your bitcoin I have £120 paypal

no, you are not ignorant... The whole thing was a bit TL;, but i DID try to read it (altough i did skip some parts because they were so erratic is lost concentration)... This guy doesn't know what he's talking about OR he does know what he's talking about but he's trying to scam by feeding people nonsense.

You are asking the right questions and making the right assumptions.
- If he cannot sign a message that can be verified using an address that was funded by >0.5 BTC, it's safe to assume he either doesn't have 0.5 BTC, doesn't know the slightest thing about BTC or does not want to share his address.
- If you can't open the .onion link while you're using the tor browser, it's not valid, AFAIK there is no "members only" darkweb (altough there are "members only" marketplaces and forums on the darkweb, but that's a different subject)

It looks like a scam, because you do not need to go to the Dark web to buy or sell bitcoins. The reason why most people use the Dark web is to obscure their real identity and their location via Tor. <It makes things more anonymous>

I would much rather just signup with a reputable exchange and buy and sell via the legitimate channels. People use the strangest tactics to avoid paying taxes and this just comes back to bite them in the ass, when the IRS do their audits.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the assurance. For certain times I was having mix thinking. I knew that the guy was talking non-sense but some part of my was saying may be I don't know much. I am glad I am right.

Why do you need to go to those extremes & risk yourself when there are multiple safe exchanges & places like localbitcoins that can offer you a safe & reliable service.

I would have ceased all communication with that guy the very moment he started getting weird.

Absolutely. Why were you even entertaining this nonsense about going helping him to sell his private bitcoins from the darkweb? He even tells you this:

Him: last time we hack 56  btc from coinbase transaction

And yet you continue to try to get him to set up a multisig wallet so you can sell these bitcoins for him.

He was obviously trying to scam you, but if you believed that what he was saying was true, then why were you trying to enter in to a partnership selling stolen bitcoins on behalf of a hacker?

Just a random scammer talking with another victim.

Majority of people don't know much about BTC not mention dark web and he is taking advantage of that. OP asked the right questions and all answers from this guy are just nonsense.

Password protected Darkweb and special BTC wallets with no explorer equal science fiction for me.
