It is cool when you look at his next two tweets. Within a couple weeks he was thinking about adding anonymity and reducing CO2 emissions.

I think that it really was a historical event that completely turned the story around and gave us the opportunity to see Bitcoin now

And Bitcoin is still running...

I think the worst thing we have ever experienced for Bitcoin, is Hal Finney's death. I wish he could live. I think he would help to all of us now.

As I understand it, he received a transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto. It turns out that he knew him personally or am I confusing you ?) Was he the first person to mine bitcoin after Satoshi ?)

we have no way of knowing whether Hal knew Satoshi personally or knew him like the rest of us as an anonymous person online who only contacted others through emails,...
as for him being the first to mine, i think he was since back then "running bitcoin" was equal to also mining with your CPU and the tweet from Hal Finney is 7 days after first bitcoin block so it is safe to assume he was the first.

There is a FOMO brewing...

Is there any record in Bitcointalk of how he intended to add anonymity to Bitcoin? What did he think was necessary for greater anonymity?

And I found it curious that he almost at the end of the year decided to learn Haskell. Would he be interested, if still alive, by a cryptocurrency that used Haskell, like Cardano(ADA)?

Speaking of Hal, months ago I requested that his Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney) - thread be lock or at least stickied.

The man is truly a legend and one the biggest contributor/collobarator in cryptocurrency.

in 10 years no one will care, who the hell cares today who created first ever paper zertified money? no one.

Right cause no body cares about things like the printing press being created. I forgot that every time a coin from some fallen empire is unearthed people just melt it down right. The difference being that we live in an age of extreme documentation; to effectively loose records of BTC's creation and progress requires a near extinction level event not just a fire in a city.

It is cool when you look at his next two tweets. Within a couple weeks he was thinking about adding anonymity and reducing CO2 emissions.

Appreciate the thread. It's pretty cool to look back on all the milestones along the way. To see where icons started out and watch them catch the bug and want to grow and nurture the system.

Even cooler to see some of his early ideals live on, much like your green project.

It would be awesome if it was earlier, but hopefully some of us can remain old and gray long enough to see the world catch up with his hope of revival from cold storage to a cure.

Hal Finney is a man who has superior crypto knowledge, he is a crypto creator who has introduced bitcoin and this is very good for its development, even though he has a disease that is able to make him helpless but intellectual thinking is quite high, and such conditions are still able to produce a lot of knowledge and very useful.

I haven’t dug through his old posts, but I’m sure he was discussing it somewhere.

A lot of people wish they got into bitcoin back then but I doubt anyone would have thought it would reach any substantial value and most would probably dismiss the whole thing as a scam.

There are a lot of people that think Hal was actually Satoshi and the communication between the two was all just an act, who knows.

----------

C'mon man!
Stop ruining the moment here with those sudden advertisements.

Thank you very much, Hal. You are missed.
Those who does great for the future are being taken away in a sudden. It is sad but it is the truth.

They might have a little time in this world but stretched it with better things done.

I think it was the 10th anniversary of bitcointalk when I first read about Hal Finney and all his posts here.
Just want to know his background and it really made me tear when I read some of it. It's heartbreaking.

Although I didn't know about this.

So, thanks Hal.
May you rest in peace knowing bitcoin is in good hands now.
You will never be forgotten.

Maybe I start journey with bitcoin in three third year where bitcoin still lower price under $200, I can't expectation bitcoin will raise higher price like now where I joined with many project investment accepting bitcoin as my payment transaction but never have ideas to hold my bitcoin assets reach more than 10 bitcoin so far I joined with investment project, now very disappointed when looking bitcoin could raise above $10,000.
