ETH and XRP - For top 2 position

Early this year,  ETH was able to get back on the top 2 position but it looks like XRP is not giving up to prove itself that he also deserve that position, and now XRP succeed on that,

Do you believe that many scenario like this will continue to happen until the real bull comes?
Many believe that XRP is not a good one but again this is the top contender of ETH when it comes to positioning and giving good services so watch out for the battle of these two top altcoins while bitcoin is laughing at the top.

It's meaningless at the moment. They are both excellent projects, but they offer different things and aren't really competing with one another. I think they are both trading well below their true worth, whether in BTC or US$, they both look underpriced.

The only reason ETH can drop below XRP is because of temporary dumping by ICO projects. Long term ETH is gonna prevail and seeing it below XRP is a great signal that it's time to buy.

ETH and XRP is the rivalry among each other. But I think XRP would be the promising coin among all other crypto in long term. This because of XRP is adopted by most of the banking industry all over the world legally. ETH is only sharing its blockchain for the token creator and in the next period of time when the token creation increases the network will be congestion. So, XRP for the second position is very deserving.

There's always going to be fluctuation in crypto and with these major currencies they are some what large enough to sometimes go against the overall market trend and then we see big variation in their marketcap relative to one another. Long term I think ETH will reclaim no 2 spot in this year, it's crashed a lot harder and has the new fork upcoming which could help to increase the price.

Looking at the level of ambition of Ripple I don't think they are interested in the second position but the first, recently I start to fear for the future of Ethereum, so many things seems to be wrong with the projects and the ICO market that helped to prop the price up is drying up fast and since there is no demand for the tokens it is very hard to bet on the future of the project for now.

Ethereum will soon over take it as the hardfork is coming very close.  I am not disappointed about the current happening as the ethereum holder but I am very confident that ethereum deserve to remain the number 2 cryptocurrencies for a very long time.

That is the truth and I don't know why that has become a major concern to many of us.  Ethereum is going to perform very well in the future and I don't think the current flipping in market capitalization is a sign of weakness to one coin or another.  We just need to be able to make the right investments to make money from the market.

Yes, because this is just a short term trend, but we still don’t know who will take the spot as they both offer good services that most of the investors love for.

Well, maybe they are not used to see ETH on the 3rd position since ETH holds the top2 spot longer than XRP. Many good speculation about the incoming hardfork with ETH, this can bring hope and opportunity for all of us.

ETH is still on good position, 3rd spot in coinmarketcap is not a sign of a weak coin. Wait for the hardfork and that position with be lock in with ETH. It just 10days after the new year, so there’s still have 355days left in 2019 and ETH will work hard just to end this year on the top spot, i believe and I will continue to hold.

ETH has real use, and proposes a solution / minimal viable product that is bound to last for a very long time, unlike XRP which is bound to banking.
The battle for the second spot won't last for long IMO, the bear market is surely having its influence on the battle too I think. But once the bear market is all over, I can assure you that XRP will be nowhere to be found around the second spot, I'll just let them enjoy their temporary trend while it last.

i think we will see xrp and eth scramble the 2nd positions in this Q1 of 2019 until the real bullish coming back to crypto world

This is not the first time XRP did that, a year or a couple year ago. They did it too, whenever we are seeing an extreme bearish market.
XRP will try to take it as their momentum to take 2nd place. But once the trend changes, ETH will eventually take its spot back.

Ethereum supported by the people as 2nd coins of altcoins, it's only their price is going down but their position as 2nd coins of  altcoins is nobody can replace.
Ethereum is use for icos project even if their price are in the drops last year ethereum is always involve in icos project no matter their price is too low in the coin market cap.

Yes, they have been switching places and rallying with that position and for sure if the bull comes many coins will be out of their place. Majority will go at the lower positions and the best would be lifted out.

We will see a battle between ETH and XRP in this year, and they will show their power to get the top 2 positions. I don't mind whoever will be at the top 2 as long as I can take a profit from both ETH and XRP. But both ETH and XRP needs to be careful because of Bitcoin Cash, EOS, Stellar, Litecoin is behind on them, and if they cannot increase the Cap, then the top 2 positions will be replaced again to the other coins. So we will wait and see who's going to be the top 2 positions, it still ETH or it returns to XRP or even the other coin.
