in binance.

I tried my 2FA in binance. It didn't work.

I have no idea why. Most likely I deleted the 2FA from my authy account by mistake. Authy do not have an option to "hide" 2FA. We can only delete.

Because the account is rarely checked, it happened. And by that time I already forget where the 2FA is.

So I told binance that I forget the 2FA.

I was asked for the account LTC deposit.

The deposit has been there like years ago. There is only one deposit. Worth .1 BTC.

I do not know the deposit address. Obviously.

The account use an alias for email address. See.... It's othermail@mydomain.com. I managed mydomain.com. Every email to mydomain.com will be forwarded to my account.

Now this is the SHITTY PART

The guy that work in binance customer service insist that I sent email from rany@mydomain.com

I told them that's not necessary. I own the email othermail@mydomain.com. EVERY BODY SHOULD KNOW that sender address can be easily spoofed. The one proof whether I own the domain or not is whether I can receive email to that email address.

After explaining AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. I relent.

I followed instruction in https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370?hl=en

I showed the customer service so he is aware of the issue.

They don't reply anymore. I asked them, are you getting email from rany@mydomain.com now? NO REPLY.

What the fuck?

I am an admin of mydomain.com. Yes, I can just create othermail@mydomain.com at the cost of $30 (there is $150 total in that account). I am just pissed. What kind of security expert do they have in binance. Why can't the customer service in binance able to figure this shit out.

Oh they replied. I just didn't read.

Well, there is no need to create that otheruser@mydomain.com. I spent $30 already. I guess I learn a lot from this problem.

I don't use Binance, but I'll give an opinion on what you wrote. I'll assume that you cannot log in because of the (deleted) 2FA.

What kind of security expert do they have in binance.

You are expecting too much. Customer support are usually far from experts.

I told them that's not necessary. I own the email rany@mydomain.com. EVERY BODY SHOULD KNOW that sender address can be easily spoofed.

I would be happy if I'd be asked for such a (weak) proof like an e-mail. Of course, I'd withdraw and never use their services again.
When you create 2FA protection you have to enter the number from Authy/Authenticator. At least once it did work, keep that in mind.
From what I understand, you failed to give them any proof that you are the owner of the account, from the missing 2FA to not knowing the LTC sender address and also sending from the "wrong" e-mail (as you said, this should not be proof, but .. yeah). Then why would they let you in? Because you know the user name and the password?
What if a hacker would know that info (stolen from your computer) and would pretend it's you just to steal your money? Would you be happy if they'd let him in?

Always think about the both sides of the story as good as possible. For now, sorry, but I would also not let you in (and I would certainly not care much about that e-mail address).

And now, thinking a bit more:
1. You have one thing that could somehow identify you: the amount of LTC. If you know the exact amount, maybe that could be of help.
2. .1 BTC is 363$, not 150$, if that's what you meant, something doesn't add up.
3. When you create 2FA protection, get the seed, write it onto a paper you'll keep safe and create the 2FA from that seed. In Google authenticator it works like that and that's what I do. Because when you work with money you have to be careful so you don't have to rely on tech support, which are people that care more about their job than your money.

Good reply man. I mean email address or domain name is just too narrow to claim access to an account that you forgot your 2fa. If you were paid back your funds, then you got really lucky.

Actually it makes sense. The customer service must have talked to some expert and agree. That I am the owner of the email.

On second thought I think they've been very reasonable. But if losing 2FA can mean I lost the whole money, I would be pretty afraid.

It doesn't mean that.

But you have to provide some info. Some wallets you've been using, your IP if it doesn't change often, some things like that. The more the merrier.
Without a thorough verification I would not let you in.

I've had such a verification at Polo or Bittrex (I don't remember which), more than a year ago. I've passed it and I feel that they did a pretty good job back then.

You’re lucky they replied you, hope they have given you the 2fa and you’re now able to log back into your account. Next time you should try to write it down, maybe on a shit of paper and keep it somewhere safe so that you wouldn’t lose it in case. If it’s not going to be safe on a sheet of paper you can save it on Keep mobile Note or any of those you get on your phone like Microsoft note and such and backed up, in case you need it later you can take it from there.

Binance has a good service and staff when it comes costumers issues, I don't think why they did not resolve that issue that OP said. Probably that problem was very risky for them it needs more time to recover, I don't know a week(s) or more worst if month(s). So, this mistake made us have a lesson, our responsibility to keep our back up seed safe because that is money that we must be careful when making a transaction online.

I believe those reply aren't coming from the Binance support team, I may say that OP are just fraud by someone.
It is a big learning for everyone, that is why we should save back up keys/password just in case we lost our phones or 2FA codes we can still recover it. It is our own responsibility to keep it safe and not just relying them for such losses.

What if they try to resolve your issue and instead of explaining over and over and just replied you after they figure it out.
Binance support is pretty good than mercatox support that even don't bother to reply even once unless you bombard their email address. What a crap.

I'm not expecting that you will get pissed off. You made a mistake to misplace your 2FA, so you need to be patient and answer all question that will lead to verify you are the owner of the account.

I use a separate phone for 2FA, which I always have at home, just before I also encountered such a problem, and decided to go to someone else’s solution, but I know that I always have access to my accounts.

Your lucky that you get your binance account back it seem that they review all first before they take an action. That is why you need to be patience because the money inside the account is big amount and they are just protecting every single account from binance.

I hope you learn about this and always backup the code from 2fa or backup them all in the safe place so that you won't experience this issue again in the future.

Better to have it man, I believe that OP is losing his mind and getting mad for such a delays of reply from the support team. I know the team have working on it just we give some patients and everything will be fined. Binance is one of the outstanding crypto exchange and they should have to sustait it otherwise they might lost a lot of traders.

I also do use to experience same problem with 2FA with Binance. Don't why this problem keeps on persisting with Binance, they should seriously find a permanent solution to it and not something that goes on and off.
I also tried using my home phone for the 2FA after I experienced problem with my former number. It worked for some time but then stopped.
Now I have removed the 2FA but I don't leave any fund in my Binance account.

Cheesy Is just like a bank. Is very easy to put in money there but difficult when you want to withdraw sometimes, especially huge some going out. When huge some goes out from a bank, it distablizes their functionality, so they might want to delay you a bit, maybe the fund is not exactly complete or ready.

The above explanation about the banks can also be liken to binance or any other exchange. And, they might be delay because of verification of 2FA etc.
