Is there anyway to prove that it is a legal copy?

Do you have the actual physical media to match? I'm assuming you are selling keys from boxed products, not OEM versions bundled with PCs (you did say legal, right?)

As I have said on other posts:

Frequently people sell MSDN and VLK keys online.  These keys almost always work initially, but stop working 2-6 months after installation.  With Windows XP, Microsoft rarely revoked keys.  They only did it for the worst, often re-used keys and it was done through updating the "Windows Advantage" software.   So if you stopped "Windows Advantage" from loading your key would not turn off.

On Windows Vista/7 it does not work the same way.  They can revoke a key automatically when certain conditions are met and they do this often for illegal keys.  So people sell the MSDN keys and while they are not legit the first one usually works.  Then one of two things happen, either they sell it again, or the buyer uses it again.  Doing either a few times and ALL people are cut off.

THIS IS ILLEGAL. Microsoft prohibits key-only sales of OEM systems, a CD/DVD or the system has to accompany it, along with the CoA sticker.

It's not only the sticker that protects the key, but the activation process also ties it to the hardware by sending information about the system hardware to MS. You can get it reactivated if it complains about minor hardware replacements, but if it's too far off from the original fingerprint (like a different motherboard) the reactivation is a no go.

I'll buy a 7 HP for 4 BTC Cheesy

BTW, it's not technically illegal. If M$ finds out, they would fine you $10 000, which you only have to pay if you want to continue to receive products from them. That being said, this is not technically a monetary transaction (as BTC is not recognized as a currency).

That's a warning to everyone here that the user prophexy (aka MatthewBTC@Gmail.com) is a scammer. I detail how he stole $50 from me in this post.
