First:
This is quite an achievement for me, ever since I joined the forum, back then I was also an asshole, a shithead, Beggar. But there are people out here that teach me on what should I do. Read and Obey.
I always thought of becoming a Legendary as well, but I also thought that it would take me now several years to reach that. And so I just only set my first goal on becoming one of the Full Member.

For Me, this is the first step on becoming a Legendary Member. And now that I'm one of the FM Senior Hero League, I should set my goals into becoming a Sr. Hero Legendary Member (Maybe after 2 weeks another year)

Second:
This may not be needed, for it will be just a trash lately, but I still want to show my gratitude on those MembersUsers, Sources, Admins who entrusted their sMerits on me. Although most of my Merits came from my trolls, for I'm not a good topic starter. Am just a simple IT Student as of now, and would like to thanks Alone55 & r1s2g3 for encouraging me.

Third:
The last Merits that was given to me was thanks to Jet Cash request, it really saves my ass on being a Member for a long time, it really took a year before I reach this rank. As for the sMerits thats on my hand, I'll be distributing some on my local board for we are not that good in english and only their fellowmen(might be wrong) can understand them (posts that are in Filipino Language) and can define whether their posts are worthy to be Merited.

And for the last one, I'm an atheist so I'll just be thanking you guys for bringing me up here on the Full, Senior Member Rank Hero Member Rank and at the same time for being a Merit Source and a DT . This is such a great gift for christmas, new year and also to my upcoming birthday on January 13, coming from this community.   Despite on what happened last week (being robbed)

Another drama for the public, for I'm a little bit excited for I'm way too close on my goal from being a Hero. Only a few more left, and I will be joining the other's Zero to Hero. My Account and the others who achieve these goals will be the proof for my activity tips on ranking.

As the time goes by, only few users are struggling to get on the top, and also there aren't so many newbies right now. So the Merit System has done its best as I can observe. The only problem now is how to build one's profile on being a reputed member of the forum, earning trust ain't no easy, for someone else has already proven that this is easily to be abused and a tool to get money from the public.

Though I'm really greatful for I have been trusted by the public ( not all ) to do an outstanding job, as for I know being a Source is only entrusted to users that can really help the others... Only a bit more, I may have a portfolio myself in the near future.

Now, I'm really close on finishing my goals here, only one thing is really needed... Learning to set up a Mining Station for BITCOINS AND ALTCOINS ... If I will be able to make it these days, only 1 more step to reach the final League. My greatest thanks to you all,...

Getting Merits is not as hard as a person might think at the start. I know this because I've also been one of the Newbies around at the initial phase of the Merit system, and I've had the exact same thoughts that a Newbie would have right now, like, "100 Merits??? No, I cannot earn them. It is impossible for me to reach that rank." and many other thoughts connected to that. But as the time passes, you start to realize (only if you make the effort and don't just whine and complain) that it is a milestone that is easily achievable with dedication and hard work.

I personally encourage every single user from a rank smaller than mine that what you think is impossible is actually isn't if you try. If you give up, it's your fault.

Actually getting to be a legendary in your own right has suddenly become a challenge for me. You think that you don't care, but suddenly as you get close, it surfaces from your subconscious.

I'd want to answer this in behalf of cabalism13 if you don't mind.

Bitcoin is just mostly 2 things in the Philippines.

1. An investment, or specifically, a money-making scheme. Mostly are just moon-boys hoping for a price increase so they can earn profit or finally breakeven(the people who invested in December 2017).
2. A sort of "cover" for ponzi schemes. As poverty is high, get-rich-quick schemes are high as well. Sort of "bitcoin mining", "bitcoin trading bot", etc schemes are really hot.

Very rarely that you would see people actually interested in the technology; and it's really really unfortunate.

And about bitcoin being used to send money, I never heard about people sending money that way, so if there are people doing it that way, it's definitely a small minority.

Actually getting to be a legendary in your own right has suddenly become a challenge for me. You think that you don't care, but suddenly as you get close, it surfaces from your subconscious.

Those were the times when everything was new and people were exited about it. It was tempting to rank up with the new "quality control", I guess it was the same feeling for you too (just multiplied by 5) , as something impossible, but when the things got more settled and you start getting merit slowly drop by drop things change, and you see that yeah, it's not that impossible, just takes time.

Theymos soon will reach 5000 so I doubt to put the level so low, I guess something like 10 000 is more interesting, don't forget that to reach activity for Legendary takes max 1030 days which is almost 3 years. So the new rank could be achieved after 3 more years of activity something like 2060 which is a bit more that 5 and a halve years!!
Some extra thoughts :

At the end of the month we gonna celebrate 1 year of merit system. so quick stats :
9 people have earned more than 1000 merit ( and there is a big change this list to grow bigger before the end of the month)

In the beginning the merit sources were just a few ( now you are one of them) and more source merit are generated. I guess more sources will be added later on, respectively more merit to the total pool

If for 1 year man can collect 1500 merit (i exclude theymos for obvious reason) so in 3 years wont be a problem man to have 5500 merit (don't forget the initial 1000 airdrop). I'm sure users like LoyceV will reach the new rank without problem, and they sure deserve it.
So putting something like 10 000 will be more changing for sure.  I don't think I'll reach it (well I never thought that i'm gonna reach Hero too but now I'm waiting only for activity) at all.

Thanks mate, but 1 didnt get some free Merits from theymos I also started in Zero like mydayonliner and S_Therapist, most of it was all given by rickbig41 at first, then followed by Vod, and so on... Like suchmoon have said the last part of my Merits was just for the efforts made on the video, if it wasnt because of Jet Cash I would still be on the Member Rank I'm so indebted to this community so I'd like to do my job as a good citizen here. Therefore, it was a large sum of 100 Merits and will be continuing to earn until I full reach my goal as a Legendary Member.

Yeah mate, and it's already been 2 weeks since I became Full Member, and now with having 154 Merits I only need 96 Merits to rank up into the Next League. With these achievements I can now help our local to gain our wasted popularity and pride. Withhaving more Merits means a lot to me for that reason I will be having more sMerits to spend and give some other Juniors and Newbies to Rank Up.

I may be a generous man when it comes to giving Rewards but I still have my own criterias on why I am doing so.

So far, I've been only focusing on my ranking activities to have more sMerits to spend. I'm not a good post starter like you guys, I'm just being myself, the way I post, bringing up opinions, suggestions, etc...

I'm still within reach buddy, like I said before don't make it a priority if not you'll miss the main purpose of this forum. I evny you guys but I don't say that often. You guys have a board were you can hangout, discuss issue affecting your kinds and render assistance in terms of knowledgeable idea to help each meanwhile my country man are lost in the forum. Tried bring them together through a handout thread (wasn't successful). But they prefer hiding under anonymous to avoid falling victim of abuse for the clean ones and others for their selfish agenda.

I'm just lost on the forum, tried making the beginner and help board my home but this days discussion there aren't that interesting anymore for me to render some help from the few lessons i have learnt on and off forum. I guess that's what I am missing too. Sometimes, it's just frustrating when you think you really did your very very best but no one seems to notice it. But giving up will never be an option. Someday, I can also reach my goals and be one of you guys. I'll just be more patient. If it doesn't work out for me today, then I'll try again tomorrow. And then the next day, and so on.

Will it be easy? No. Will it be worth it? Definitely!

Only few more steps ahead to become one, and finally joining the others that I seemly regarded as my batch (Users who registered on January and During the implementation of the Merit System-Started at Zero Merits) now after this, I am really close to my goals here. And it really doesn't matter now how long will it take for me to become Legendary because one thing is for sure,... I will reach it, no matter what! 😁

Special thanks to suchmoon, to other Sources and to Pilipinas Local Board. If it wasn't to suchmoon I may not be able to see the door in just a short time. Though the purpose was just to give me sMerits for my board,but the fact that it also helped me, I'm way too lucky to be helped. Also to DarkStar_ who continuously lurking on our board.

Behold! Once again I've earned another rank! This is a proof that you should follow my cabalism13's activity tips on ranking if that is you wish to reach the top!

Ranks are really not important but this is also an achievement here in the forum, though knowledge is the most important thing to gain and this is what I'm currently hoping to get. Merit System is no longer a hindrance for us, for there are many sources that's lurking around the shadows to award users so don't be afraid to take your chances,... Only the abusive users will get punished, hence you should still follow the rules while up for an activity.

Yeah it really is, only if I get accepted, but I don't expect that much, as I know DarkStar_ has already some lists for users that seems to be considerable to be part of his campaign, also there are much more reputed members other than me,... So I'll be just on the last Prio if ever it comes to that. The competition is really hot in there though chances are somewhat not to be wasted so we should just take it as long as we can (not to be abusive).

Users who complain around are both lazy, unpatient, and unknowledgeable. Lazy to make their acceptable posts (in quality and contents); unpatient to keep doing their good posts; and unknowledgeable to have ideas for their posts (because they are mostly lazy to read forum rules, to read and learn from famous users here, to read and learn about bitcoin and blockchain, etc.)

Time is indeed fast, It's already been 3 years now since I joined here and I was 2 months late to post this thing, many events has passed already such as:
Some users have disappeared (Died, Quit, etc)
Projects failed and others succeed.
Altcoins played almost Hide and Seek.
And Bitcoin is almost at the 100k peak.
I was a bit sad while writing this,
as I see myself a bit bored while still going.
Nothing much to complain,
And it seems there isn't also much to be amazed.

Does anyone misses the old times?

I would like to congratulate you for being part of the three years in our forum hoping that you still last long here and make a lot of contribution to our forum. Well it's just my first year and 1 month to our forum on those years gives me a lot of knowledge that can apply in reality. At some point I'm guilty to part of the project failed, I create an online quiz for the bitcointalk but I didn't make any update due to being busy lol.

Unfortunately, time cannot stop and the years pass really fast. I am approaching 6 years since registering on the forum, so I have witnessed some other things as well - projects were coming and going, people were always complaining about something, new ones were appearing, and some old ones were disappearing.

I've been here twice as long as you and I don't have these problems, for me every new day is a new challenge and there are always things that surprise me in a positive or negative way. Of course I realize that some things can get boring and tiring over time, and then maybe it’s best to rest and take a break.

Does anyone misses the old times?

I don’t miss the time of massive spam that existed during 2015/16 when some campaigns were run by bots, nor the time before the merit system when people abused the forum to the extreme. I will not say that it does not exist today, but certainly to a much lesser extent than was the case before.

Of course, I miss the time when BTC was worth only $200, then almost anyone could buy 1, 2 or 3 BTC or earn them through faucet - today such a privilege is reserved only for rich people.
