AT&T and T-Mobile say they will stop selling customers' location data to 3rd-party service providers by March; Verizon says it's winding down sharing agreements. I look forward to a savior with a blockchain-based social network.

How will a blockchain increase privacy?

I look forward to a savior with a blockchain-based social network.

It already existed (ICO projects, like Enlte), but I doubt they increase or solve your privacy issue. Some other projects make an app where it can manage data access for you, and they use blockchain for settlement when you decide to sell your data. It other words: blockchain won't help you protect your data (an additional app do that), but it might help if you want to monetize your data.

If you really want to protect your privacy, maybe stop using social media, or at least make yourself anonymous.
