Bitcoin is not yet use as a salary in my country because it js not yet legalized. Wealthy countries like Japan can use cryptocurrencies like bitcoin as a salary to some employees who want it. It is already reported several months ago that some employers in that country are offering bitcoin as an alternative payment for salaries to their employees. Bitcoin is always subject to rapid price fluctuations so I think there always changes in price after someone recieved it as a salary.

I know a friend who chose to accept his salary in crypto when he started working with ZCoin a few years ago.  At that time, XZC was less than a dollar. He never cashed out until 2017 boom where XZC price peaked at almost $150.  From what I know, he cashed out around $700k.   But in the first place, he was a lawyer who already made a fortune.  He didn't need the money and therefore he was able to hold the coins for many years.

Lucky for him. It's really true that we shoudn't  make crypto as a fulltime because we will just get tempted to cashout when it's not even hitting 2x from it's original price.  $700k would be more than enough for me in my country to start my retirement.

Been an employee in the space for a little while, used to get paid in Ethereum and as a rule of thumb, I would always sell everything straight away in order not to be tempted to hodl.

the basic and common rule  here in crypto is hodl! hodl! hodl! and buy low sell high  but im surprised to see that you have your own rule  .

good for you mate  . hodling is really addictive because once you get started to hodl you cannot get back anymore as the value will now start to move up and down  .

in my case , i have also been paid in crypto as my salary here in the forum and it feels good because i can do many things with it that an actuall salary ( fiat ) cant do  .

I am not aware of cases where an employer paid salaries to their employees in bitcoin. I thought that this is only possible on the Internet and bitcoin can be obtained for the provision of any service or for participation in the bounty company. But if there were such cases, I would be interested to read how it all happened.

I became more curious about how to solve this problem, even though in my place I have not paid my salary using bitcoin and the like, I am interested in this topic

I usually take payment in Crypto for my services, and as most of my clients are very much crypto-enthusiastic, they rather like it.

How do your employers buy it?
Have there been scenarios where after they purchased the agreed amount the value increased/decreased substantially before you were paid? If so, how did they react to this?

you know in that case that when a parties agreed for a certain amount and suddenly the person who will send payment will increase or decrease the agreed salary the employee has no control over it be thankful if they pay you whatever the price is.

No, I never got a salary in bitcoin, although it sounds interesting to me, maybe somebody gets lucky when he gets a salary to grow bitcoin and be in higher income, otherwise I thought that it's only possible to get a bitcoin when we perform a service or we participate in a campaing, but It's not different from getting a salary.

well to get paid in cryptocurrency and be employed officially
you have to live in one of the countries that recognise cryptocurrency , where it is legalized
otherwise there will be a ton of problems with taxes and overall legality, including pension

Doesn't that sort of negate the purpose of receiving your salary in ETH.
I mean sure, it's cool that at least you're raising volume (your employer buys, you sell) but I think it kinda defeats the purpose if you're not keeping at least some of it in ETH.
I got paid in ETH for some gigs as well, I dumped half on kraken to margin trade  Grin

I was paid only with fiat money, and so far I had never seen a company, or an employer paid the salary of his employees with crypto. and in my opinion an employee will think twice about receiving his salary in the form of crypto.

I do the same. You just got lower earning when you do not sell right away because price drop and takes long to recover. I get paid with bitcoin also in this forum which is good but for real job, many do not want to accept it because the price is volatile, they better receive fixed payment.

Have there been scenarios where after they purchased the agreed amount the value increased/decreased substantially before you were paid? If so, how did they react to this?

Unfortunately I do not know this experience
I have never had my salary by using Betkin
Neither of my friends does that
Surely  if that was available to me I was would do
Because that has good chances

I think there will be no big problems
If the employer buys the currency before the time of direct payment of salaries.

I will not accept cryptocurrency at the current market situation I will be in a losing situation if I accept cryptocurrency as payment, you could receive less but if you still have the means to support yourself then you can just hodl it and wait for the bull run for a profit.

of course, for everyone who works and do business here, they get their income from crypto. which is a special thing is when you work outside the crypto business. but you receive crypto by salary. actually crypto users want that, but of course the company still can't do that? because it is the authority of your office's financial staff

Well, I also want to have been experience this kind of thing, wherein my salary will be paid in crypto. For me, I think it would be much convenient. I would gladly accept that and it be much easier for me to see and manage my salary in a my crypto wallet once it arrives.

I think what you are trying to say is how do employer feel hen they are paid in bitcoin and it is decreasing or increasing in value and his does the employee feel about it, and I think that shouldn't be an issue cos the amount of btc paid will be compare to dollar value and btc volatile can only change in satoshi , eg if the salary is $3000 and 1 btc is $3000 then it goes for $3000 but if btc price is above that then the value in satoshi will reduce and same if less than $3000.
