some questions about sto (security token offering)

Hello, guys

Just recently find out about sto (security token offering) and it really intrigued me.
I know that its similar to ico's, have invested into few of them.

I have red some articles about sto's and have some understading.

So guys, sto is like ico, i make a research, invest and later i can sell or hold the tokens in exchangers or what?

I don't understand this part.

Investing in security tokens is like buying shares you become shareholder of the project and you own the part of the company and later have rights in profit distribution as well as the decision making of the company. I personally see security tokens as the real deal and they are a lot superior class than the usual utility tokens especially we have seen how this long bear market has devalued all these alts and utility tokens.

I found that POLYS and SWM tokens are easy to buy and start investing.
Everybody knows that in order to invest into most of STO's, you need to have HUGE capital to participate.

But which STO's allows Non-Accredited Investors ?

I see no difference to it STO and ICO seem the same. There were projects that can easily bought right now you don't even realize its a security token. The latest that I have acquired was the Bitfence (HNY) doesn't have a good value for now but the project is listed on SEC and is a security token. I wonder how this isn't having much demand.

Some projects are carried out through conversion from ICO form STO to more easily raise capital. It seems only different by the name.

Just as the first acronym of STO implied security, it means your investments are secured.
Tokens from STOs are also traded, just like those of ICOs are traded on exchanges.

Yes this is true. It's like an ICO that you will get the token from the company and later on you can sell it if you want to. There's really no big difference for STO's and ICO.

You should understand the difference about the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and also the Security Token Offering (STO), to be more efficient when you want to make your choice to invest. In this case there may be only a few differences, but we must be very careful to continue the steps.

STO is almost similar to IPO where you purchase the equity of a company.

Security tokens is a little different than holding a normal token, because when you hold security tokens, it's just like you buying share in that company and you would be part of the decision makers in the company unlike normal tokens that the only way you will be able to get funds is to wait for the coin to trade on exchange and pray that the price of the coin don't go below ICO price because we might never see the price of that token/coin go up any more thereby making the coin worthless to investors.

As of now, STO is not gaining much attentions among this crypto community as it is losing its attractions due to the introductions of IEO. Probably when exchanges are able to host STO as part of their IEO, we may see boom of STO.

According to my research, both are very different. I explain here:

In ICO you don't have surety to get revert of your token if the ICO was scammed but

In STO you have full RIGHT to get your investment return because you are the owner of the where you invested you money in STO project.

Already STO trend is over. IEOs have started to gain dominance in sales. Even, the last IEO in Bittrex was over just 10 seconds. Great exchanges should be a good choice in this regard and should consider.

I don't see any difference of STO from ICO's I have encountered scam STO and does not give any assurance to investors. IEO is much better right now but only try on reputable exchanges like binance, I think they have examine every project that wants to launch an IEO with them and it is automatically listed on the exchange several days after the tokensale.

one thing that i know in STO is that you need to be fully-compliance with SEC regulations and should have a license to operate since you are offering a security tokens though is just another way of raising funds like the usual ICO.

The main difference with STO from ICO is the token type.
ICO offers token with utility type, it means you can use it directly in their platform and get some profit.
in the other hand, STO is offering token with security type, it means you can just hold it in your wallet and get profit, no need to using it.

STOs pass through regulatory bodies that is it has to pass a security test to become an sto and also you can buy sto like you buy an ico but the difference is that sto is more like a companies shares that you hold and get dividend sort of
