I guess that an option would be finding as many exchanges and OTC services as possible and sell some parts on each of them.
Just:
* probably some such services would not process too big amounts
* probably some of the services or at least the bank will start asking questions (and freezing your funds)

It may be a good idea to discuss such questions with the tech support of the bigger exchanges.

Some exchanges allow as much as 100btc withdrawal with 24hrs once you have your verification through the second stage. Wth that you can easily do your $500k - $1mil within days without stress. After all, there is a limit to daily withdrawals even with the bank ATM cards.

I'd personally look for someone on LocalBitcoins[1], and meet up with them personally(in a safe and well-secured place of course). If I were to transact that amounts of money, I'd want to be as private as possible about it.

Preferably, I'd want to pay cash. it's just a lot better in terms of anonymity and privacy.
