I hear you    I recall that as well.  And I remember thinking those prices several years ago were absurd lol.  Who knows,  they may actually go higher.  I think there's probably not many sealed that are in existence.  Mostly because when we got these cards as kids, we tore into the packages hoping to find a Charizard or a Venusaur or whatever.  I doubt there were many people that kept the boxes sealed!
