In the "This is a self-moderated topic" warning, stats will now be printed about how many posts have been deleted if any posts have been deleted. The stats start now, not the beginning of time, and they are cached for quite some time. If any of the deleted posts had any merit before they were deleted, then this whole stat block will be printed in bold. Currently the stats never reset; I haven't decided yet whether this is OK.

How about a link log of the deleted posts that can be available for public viewing it include when it was posted and when it has been deleted, will that be possible? If you will see my merit stat I have been merited by TMAN just recently but this has been deleted due the fact that the OP don't want some good argument about it.

Good suggestion but in your case you don't have to worry about people questioning it as TMAN is one of the most respected members on the forum. I think including a deletion log for every single self moderated thread would become a huge problem to store and display without a few headaches though and could be used as a way to DDOS the forum. At least with Theymos's way you can tell how many posts have been deleted and decide whether you want to post in the thread or open a new unmoderated thread yourself.

If this can be made available then it'll give the forum another shape helping in spoting those users abusing the self-moderation privilege on topic and defaulters should be banned from having the privilege of self moderating their topics. But until then showing of just the stat is a great step so it's OK +1

Something it seemed had to be done about self moderated threads and it's a good one you're coming up with ideas to lessen the abuse by those who moderate their topics and go on a mandate of deleting any views that's opposite to theirs which makes self moderated threads most times less enticing to comment on.
Showing of stats as regards posts deleted is a step in the right direction and more brush up of the idea will have beneficial effects definitely

I deleted this post (made by LoyceMobile) before reading this topic, but it doesn't show anything yet. Either it doesn't work, or it really takes "quite some time". I'll update here if it shows up.
And there it is:

Thanks theymos!

When I read the title, I was hoping this would give the thread owner more control over who gets to post there. Excluding users who are on ignore by the OP would be a good measure against spam.

Posts of the users who are on ignore won't show up, only an empty post with grey color, so it's just a few clicks to mark them and delete them with a press of the button, you don't have to read them.
I know it will raise the deleted post count in the statistics, but that's not a real problem. If you don't let ignored users post in a selfmod topic it can also be interpreted like their posts were deleted right after they have submitted it, so no much difference...

I think it's a helpful addition and will help others figure out if they even want to post in there. Could you make another enhancement and give the option to pre-blacklist certain users or even limit who can participate to certain membergroups/ranks.  Most people create a self-mod threads just to keep certain trolls out and they often still annoyingly post in those threads. Banning them from even being able to post in there would probably save people a lot of time and hassle. Limiting the thread to certain ranks would also stop them from coming back on a brand new account or would be helpful when doing giveaways when they're only open to certain ranks.

Excellent suggestion, and you're right about how they create new accounts just to continue the trolling when those trolls know they're not going to get a response from the main account (you all know one example in particular that's been happening lately).

spoting those users abusing the self-moderation privilege on topic and defaulters should be banned from having the privilege of self moderating their topics.
How does one abuse his "self-moderation privilege"?  The whole point is for a member to have control over the thread and to delete whatever he likes.  Everyone has a choice whether to post in a self-moderated thread or not, and I don't think the OP of any of them ought to be punished for deleting posts.

How does one abuse his "self-moderation privilege"?
Some people use self moderated threads to delete warnings about shady behavior, criticism of the OP (or someone closely related), or questions that make the OP look bad.

Or they produce self modded [ANN] threads (for scams) that go on for over two hundred pages full of shitposts made by bumping service accounts, deleting all unfavorable posts along the way. Like so.

I know that the forum doesn't moderate scam only DTs can give red trust to the OPs and shills of this kind of threads, but really that's all we can do with scam ICOs?
I hope that none of them will manage to get into DT somehow, because then all the fake red trust they poured onto the forum members will become real red tags and not just untrusted feedbacks...

while this can be effective against spam ,it will give much more power to scammers on the market place for example, they will just put every scam buster on their ignore list and allow their alts and fake vouchers  to bump the thread with fake vouches . as long as self-moderated topics are allowed by newbies on the market place this would create a worse situation than already is, i hope this feature would be added on certain boards tho.

Haha, if that happens then the lunatics will have well and truly taken over the asylum.
If I persisted in using that dystopian forum, then I guess I'd wear this sort of red trust with pride
