Their are so many way to learn bitcoin if you want to learn about it even you are not non technical but if you have a little bit knowledge in computer and on how to search you will learn a ton and a lot of knowledge in would wide Web or in Internet. We google, youtube, social media, blogs and  so on just try to search for your own.

If you said that you have non-technical friends, as in computer illiterate other than Facebook and Instagram and whatnot, then forget about sending them walls of text, they will not bother. The only hope is that you send them some of the already requested options like Andreas A stuff which is easy to understand because he is a great speaker, then it's all up to them if they have a curiosity for it to dig deeper or not. Chances are they don't, unless they have a background on either economics or computers/cryptography and they probably don't. That is why we are still early adopters.

With lots of articles around about basics on what bitcoin is all about, a simple search on your favorite search engine is enough. No need for specific site as we have different levels of understanding. There are newbies that can understand what's the content all about even for first time reading and there are some who not.

The structure is just the same. The main point is just the same. The picture is just the same. Even how well detailed and easy to understand the certain resources that others will give you here, it will depend on how your "non-technical" friends understand what they read.

So just share various resources that you will find on the web or you can explain it to them by yourself.

There are a lot of clips in YouTube even for beginners. All you have to do is to watch videos. There are videos with great graphics and also contains good information. The very basic one for beginners. He/she can spend his/her day watching different video on YouTube and can guarantee will learn something.
Also here in forum, you can learn things by just reading different opinion of others. But I suggest to start in YouTube to know some terms that is commonly used here for better understanding on what people are saying here. Google also helps if he/she don't know a term they used, your friend can always search it and it will give him/her an answer.

This will help a lot and honestly I also started this way while i'm learning about trading and how to become more effective in this market. The fun fact is, most people in blockchain/crypto group was started by non-technical personalities. Yup, they came with no knowledge about it and of course all of them are filtered. Some can survive by searching about it on Google or just waiting for friend to tell about it. Advice your friend to some crypto news channel/website. It would help alot, from there your friend maybe find out new vocabulary about all crypto terms.

So far, I have read two (2) books about bitcoin that actually helped me understand more about the blockchain and the coin itself. It contains a vast history of the creation of cryptocurrencies and it also explains the processes on how bitcoin works in the blockchain:

• Mastering Bitcoin by Andres M. Antonopoulos; and
• Blockchain Revolution by Don Tapscott and Alex Topscott

I think you should have at least an idea about bitcoin for you to be able to find your way around the forums. For someone who isn't used to being tech savvy, it may become a challenge at first. As i mentioned before, i think youtube still is the best option. Or you can go to social media. Facebook, twitter and instagram have a lot of crypto groups and pages where you can familiarize yourself first with the market.
