Check out Coindesk's A Beginner's Guide to Blockchain Technology[1]. It's a sort of guide compilation of bitcoin's basics; with a good number of content. This is one of the resources I've used in the past hence the reason I always endorse it even though I don't have any incentive to do so.

If you said that you have non-technical friends, as in computer illiterate other than Facebook and Instagram and whatnot, then forget about sending them walls of text, they will not bother. The only hope is that you send them some of the already requested options like Andreas A stuff which is easy to understand because he is a great speaker, then it's all up to them if they have a curiosity for it to dig deeper or not. Chances are they don't, unless they have a background on either economics or computers/cryptography and they probably don't. That is why we are still early adopters.

How about Andreas Antonopoulos?
I think this guy is very good. Certainly one of the most successful speaker about BTC. In an ecosystem where there are so many scammers, so much misleading information, hear a someone like antonopoulos is amazing. Here is his book, for free. It opened my mind: Mastering bitcoin https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook/blob/develop/README.md

At the top of the bitcoin you'll be able to earn a great deal of money and of course there are so many ways to earn money to invest in everything you really do when you study thoroughly and above all the most important resources in all that I know is where you earn twice as well and how you can invest in it that it will be sucessful to transact.

What about the bitcointalk? Since you are already a member here maybe you could ask them to join here. The Beginners Section is friendly with learning all the workarounds and the can post with their questions (providing that it isn't yet asked/answered)

2 Resources that I know can give knowledge about Bitcoin for me.
1. Youtube - We know already that Youtube is the one of the best place to watch videos. When I'm learning the basics of Bitcoin, I downloaded some videos there and watched it once a day or twice so that I can learn something everyday. Maybe you can do it to your friends.
2. Bitcointalk forum - We know too that this forum is full of information about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. I think what your friends must do if they want to gather information here is to use the search button and be patient.

With lots of articles around about basics on what bitcoin is all about, a simple search on your favorite search engine is enough. No need for specific site as we have different levels of understanding. There are newbies that can understand what's the content all about even for first time reading and there are some who not. The structure is just the same. The main point is just the same. The picture is just the same. Even how well detailed and easy to understand the certain resources that others will give you here, it will depend on how your "non-technical" friends understand what they read. So just share various resources that you will find on the web or you can explain it to them by yourself.

Check out the Bitcoin Wiki. On the front page, you'll find links to an Introduction, FAQ, and other helpful articles for beginners. Have you tried searching youtube? there are a ton of very non-tech friendly clips about Bitcoin on Youtube.
There's a lot of garbage there, too. I've seen a lot of snake oil salesman and referral spammers pushing bad information on Youtube.

I can BET you can’t find better site than https://cryptolinks.com/, here EVERYTHING you need in regards to Crypto is AVAILABLE. Whether you talk about general guidance/details or IF you talk about documentary, videos or anything you could thought about. It is FAIR to call this as the Crypto dictionary, which is extremely under-rated as of now. But slowly people are understanding the value and worth of it. So, try it out and tell me IF I am wrong or right!

With the connectivity in hands anything can be seen on our palms. With this it is one's own responsibility to explore and learn upon his convenience and understanding. One cannot understand in a precise way the expectation of people next to them. As of now there are more technical and non-technical video contents as well as articles and documentaries on cryptocurrency.
