Hey guys. I know I'm new here. I registered for the sole purpose of buying BTC.
I know that I'm new here, so I am not at all trustworthy.

Is there anything I can do to prove to a potential seller that I am trustworthy?

I am using my own personal verified PayPal account. I can send as F&F, and even write a note that I will never charge back if that helps.
I will of course go first.

As an extra layer of protection, I can provide you with my own personal Facebook account having more than 1100 friends and videos and pictures of me from my local martial arts club. I have my whole family on Facebook, and a lot of people posting on my wall. It would be impossible to fake such an account. Will even send a picture with your name so you can see I'm the guy on my Facebook.

I don't know if this will help, but I really want to prove that I am legit.

I'm looking to buy BTC preferrably at a 1:1 rate.

Hope to hear from some of you. Whatever idea you have to verify that I'm legit, I'll do.

Yes you can, use escrow service.

I am using my own personal verified PayPal account. I can send as F&F, and even write a note that I will never charge back if that helps.
I will of course go first.
This can add a layer however I do not think this will help for the dispute.

As an extra layer of protection, I can provide you with my own personal Facebook account having more than 1100 friends and videos and pictures of me from my local martial arts club. I have my whole family on Facebook, and a lot of people posting on my wall. It would be impossible to fake such an account. Don't do that. Keep your privacy here. Look around here and you will see everyone are encouraged to keep their privacy.

I don't know if this will help, but I really want to prove that I am legit.
Trustworthy? It takes time. For the time being you can use any exchange. Build a decent friend circle here. stay active, be a community guy. People will find you trustworthy.

I'm thinking an escrow service wouldn't help much, if the seller is afraid of a potential chargeback?

Well, I called PayPal to hear them, they say that it's impossible to fill a deal dispute if sent as friend and family. Unless the buyer contacts his/her bank and say that their account was stolen. Which of course makes deal disputes harder, but not impossible. I understand this is a really shitty situation.

Thanks for the heads up, I will. I do not feel I have anything to hide though.
I will try to build some relationships here, and stay active.

If anyone wants to chat, or deal with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me. Smiley
Once again, thanks for the detailed response. I really appreciate it!

You are welcome.

I don't blame you but this forum members have seen worse. Scammers are trying to scam people every time. They are taking every chances to walkaway with others money since they can hide their identity.

I am sorry that you are going to have hard time dealing with pp to BTC. If it was BTC you were going to sell then any trusted member could buy it from you.

Anyway, I will see you around and good luck.

Yeah it really sucks that there are people willing to do everything to earn a quick buck. Their own guilt will catch in on them one day.
Don't be! I see it as a journey towards something better. If I was a trusted member I wouldn't deal with someone unknown either.

Yeah I'll see you around, and once again thank you for taking time to reply! Smiley

You are right but any escrow will not provide their service for paypal but they may hold btc as escrow. Yet PayPal buyer can be loser as op can reverse the payment.

Yeah, I'm thinking that just further exceeds the risks, by transfering the risk to the escrow, who will receive the PP funds, and by that be the one that's risking a deal dispute.

Guessing there's no easy way, it's about grinding trust, and posts hehe.

Sorry, but under your profile there's a few people calling you a scammer.
So I wouldn't have the guts to go first, and I'm guessing you won't go first either so yeah.

I have seen people to get ripped off from localbitcoins. I also seen people to buy/sell localbitcoins accounts here so I will strongly suggest OP to avoid any account that will be suggested by someone here who is not trustworthy (sorry gial1949 I have not verified your trust page yet to see if your trust rating were justified). If you really have to deal in localbitcoins then find a well reputed seller in there and deal with them.

You are going to find it tough with a new account to get the deal you want.

Fastest and easiest way for you to get your hands on BTC would be to register with an exchange.

Outside that you probably aren't going to get a 1:1 rate here. People will be wary of a new account trying to use PP, due to charge backs and things like that.

Depending on the country you live in there are options like Email Money Transfers. Using something like that and say a couple week escrow time frame to avoid a possible hacked bank account scenario would be one way of going about it.

There's the red feedback and also the woke up recently from a long period of inactivity. Both things that should raise the level of caution for dealing with you. That's not to say you can't make a deal but don't try and shut down valid concerns. I would also suggest using a trusted forum escrow.

you might consider cashing out from paypal to your bank account. people are more likely to accept a bank transfer than paypal from a new user IMO.

i've seen people make trades where paypal funds were sent immediately and BTC released months later, after the threat of chargeback seemed to be over.

personally, i'm pretty paranoid accepting paypal funds---i'm not even sure green trust is enough. even honorable traders might mistakenly end up trading with fraudulent funds and that can cause negative balances or account closure.

I'm also a newbie who wants to turn PayPal into BTC Smiley

What if we have PayPal balance and for the payment we use that balance, not using any card or bank in the process? Maybe TeamViewer can be used as a proof that the payment is F&F and the PayPal funds are used? Is that reversible?

If you are scammer then there is almost no way to avoid your scam attempt and if you are legit then there is nothing need to check. For example you will give send your paypal balance which we saw from team viewer or any video but yu hacked that account then what will be happened. Also, you can send the fund from another PC which you do not use for that account and latter you complained that the account has been hacked. Think yourself.

my suggestion to you is to withdraw the paypal to your bank and do something like buy BTC via western union through Paxful (best rate)

I just made this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5101793.0 where I'm doing it at 50%.
In this thread, people can buy me items with their PayPal and I give them bitcoins when I receive it. It's digital delivery, so you'll get the item instantly. I also need an item that is $7, and i'm open to doing that transaction at a favourable rate. If it goes smooth, we leave feedback for each other and mutually build our reputations.

Let me know

Also op can do another thing, he can try to buy from his/her local people or local exchange if there is available any. I think maximum country has local exchange.
