Hello guys. My name is Jimmy, I'm living in Denmark.
I signed up here because of the marketplace, I'm looking to buy BTC. I know that there's lots of awareness on new users wanting to buy BTC with PP, due to the amount of scams.
Does any of you have any tips as of what I can do to prove that I'm legit?
I have a personal Facebook with lots of friends. I have videos and pictures of me at my local martial arts gym, and my whole family on my Facebook. (Grandma, mom, sister, girlfriend, etc) Would this make a seller more comfortable dealing with me?

I called PayPal, they said that F&F can't be charged back using PayPal's system, but if a buyer went to their bank, they could chargeback all their purchases by saying their card was stolen. I'm aware of this, which is why I'm looking for solutions to make myself more trustworthy.

But this is an introduction, so let me introduce myself.
As previously stated I live in Denmark with my girlfriend. I'm 23 years old and is currently studying marketing management in Zealand.
I'm having a baby daughter in 1 month, which I'm very excited about.

In my sparetime I produce music, and has been for 8 years. I also do martial arts. Specifically Muay thai, BJJ, and MMA.
I like spending time with my friends, and then I'm a non smoker/drinker haha.

Hoping to meet some cool guys on the boards.

Thanks for reading!

If you want to buy BTC using PayPal, just use one of these sites:
  • localbitcoins.com
  • virwox.com
  • paxful.com

And of course, you're expected to submit identification details.

I really don't think this matters much, unless the person you're transacting with knows you personally.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Verification is not a problem. The problem is usually the rates that are extremely high.

Understandable reason. If you're not in a rush, try setting up buy offers on LocalBitcoins with prices that you're comfortable with. Best of luck!

I guess , you can try Currency Exchange board. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0)

or might you try to sell something  using bitcoin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0

Make sure , you pay attention to the "trust" and forum rank of each user and use some of the trusted escrow from the list in the topic below.

Any one can get a false identity and even  fake pictures well this is not to say that you are not legit but this having all that is not concrete enough to prove that  you are authentic. Most seller would love to buy from an exchange but if they are selling to individuals they would prefer to employ the services of an escrow agent

Why do you need to buy with Paypal? Can you not send it to a bank account? If you don't have a bank account can't you send it to someone who does have one? If you do that the world is your oyster with massively reduced premiums.

Paypal is certifiable cancer to any BTC seller who will price accordingly, if at all.

I understand what you mean. However it would be a lot of work to fake. Seeing as I both have my grandma, parents, siblings, cousins, friends, and my local martial arts club that posts pictures and videos with me weekly. Someone might be able to fake all that, but it would be quite a hassle for the "low" amounts I'm looking to exchange hehe.

I could of course. I do have a bank account. I'm selling goods online and accept PayPal payments. Problem is that if I were to withdraw all the money every time, and then wait 5 days and then buy BTC, sending funds to another country. That just seems like quite the hassle if you know what I mean.

With the documents you're willing to show and provide, I think you're better off using Paxful or any other P2P platform If you want to avoid high fees. Alternatively, you have the currency exchange section on the forums but it might take time to build trust and it will definitely be hard to start with high amounts, at least not with your current rank, and trust history.

There are 2 things I can suggest:

1. PayPal is risky enough for first time traders and charge backs could be a big headache and an extremely painful experience for such newbies, I'd suggest you to send your money to a friend whom you trust (only if you personally know them as well as have faith that they may never cheat) and ask them to buy you BTC locally. Exchange at their place may have cheaper fees than what you're being suggested. I'd ask a question someone already asked - Why only PayPal?

2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583572.0
Shdvb's thread, this guy is trustworthy enough if you wish to buy BTC, the only problem is, he doesn't sell BTC with PayPal, but you can use:
Quote
Money Gram Shocked
Payoneer  Smiley
USDT  Grin
Bank Of America

If you could manage PayPal, then I guess that purchasing USDT won't be a big deal for you as there are e-currency exchangers that do such trades, but it's more riskier than PayPal alone. So, if you could manage MoneyGram, I believe that buying BTC won't be a big problem.
