This is one of a few dozen. https://blockchain.info/tx/64559c3fa9628779caf1f9a452a3b046388d31abf7257f0d0e3f51915e53ec5c
Any idea of who's doing it? Huh
Are these coins from the recent whale awakenings?

Edit: They're still coming! Ridiculous!

If you look at the parent tx they aren't some long mined unmoved coins.  Someone create a bunch of 50 BTC outputs.  I can only think of one reason and that would be to freak people (who can't follow the blockchain) out.

Could be somebody's printing a bunch of 50 BTC paper wallets. Cool

But.... why not one transaction?

Probably putting on a show for people, as if an early miner is cashing out.

But still that miner would have one transaction for it.

I can understand someone wanting to hold their bitcoins in blocks of 50, as 50 is the original block reward.

Not sure why that makes it special or whatnot, but I can see why some might do such a thing.

EDIT: of course, in this particular case, I think some sketchy shit is going down.

Buy a TREZOR! Premier BTC hardware wallet. If you're reading this, you should probably buy one if you don't already have one. You'll thank me later.

How many BTC in these wallets in total?

Is this related to the 111k or 160/180/200k splitting transactions that have been seen this weekend?

I got the impression the consensus on that splitting was it was preparation of hot wallets, ready for withdrawal. Could this be more of the same?

I did this very thing a few weeks ago, albeit with smaller quantities.

Hope I didn't freak anyone out Smiley

Another strange happening on bitcoin world as you can see their is no fee on it, that means it was transferred from paper wallet, would this be big whales just woken up or something fishy happening related to Mt.Gox.

It was mentioned in another thread that Gox software was automatically splitting and mixing their transactions - maybe it was that?

There was also no transcation fee on huge tx - like 180k - that was believed to be Gox money
