Good evening,

Basically the title says it all.

Also the german mod seems to be AWOL for the last weeks months, so I am posting this here.

In the german Auction board Trust is not shown.

One example here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5101360

This is surely a mistake that can be easily fixed.

What can't be fixed that easily is that the german board has no moderator since November, 4th.

Maybe Theymos can make a quick fix regarding the Trust and think about a mod?

Also I would like to adress several other sections not showing trust that should, in my opinion:

"Project development" - German Board - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=63.0

People post "projects" there. This includes ANNs that should be posted in Altcoins.

Beginners board in most if not all languages. If beginners truely get there for information it should be visible who is a good and reliable source of information.

On a broader view the sub boards showing or not showing Trust should be unified for the whole forum.

I'd love to read your input.

I agree on the "auctions board", but for "project development" i did not see a need for this.
the problem there is, as you wrote, many announcments to be moved to the altcoins section..

If you like to give me a tip:  bc1q8ht32j5hj42us5qfptvu08ug9zeqgvxuhwznzk

There can also be guys who are genuinely launching their own "private" project and that could be looking for help.
This would still mean the start of a potential business relationship, in which Trust Scoring should matter.

Anyway, for instance in the french section, the Project section IS showing trust.

Going to back to the point where it should be unified.

because this thread is here about various points and problems of the german subforum maybe the hint to another problem we have.

namely the not optimal separation of our area.
link to the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2986138.0

i think it will be relatively difficult to understand what suggestions there were if you don't speak german.
should we perhaps prepare a proposal and translate it so that the responsible people here can think about it? Smiley

Thanks for pointing that out regarding the German board. I hope you dont mind but I also checked the marketplace on the Croatian local and trust is also not visible there. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=220.0

@theymos could you make the trust visible for the Croatian board as well?

I totally agree with you. In my own opinion if it were to be possible that all section of the forum can show every users trust level this would in turn promote complete transparency and help individual easily detect the trust level of any user

I agree with this.

Beginners are the ones who are the first target for scammers, and showing trust could probably help them.

I mentioned this here where a known scammer (already tagged) was trying to scam newbies into using his fake vanity generator website. His trust was not visible.

This would be a bit too much. In some areas it would be counter productive.
For instance in politics or serious discussions. If the guy is painted red it could weaken his point, even if he is right.

Personally, i don't agree with this, and a guy painted red would not have that affect on my opinions about his points. Especially in politics discussions, which most of people already have their own opinions formed.

This argumentum ad hominem is a fallacy.
If the tagged guy has a point in a discussion, personal attacks about his tag do not prove that his wrong, but only the opponent own inability to argue.

Not showing tags everyone on the forum because there a few incapable users is a non-sense to me.

Tags are used to mark users as scammers, not as fools. They are capable to argue and defend their views by themselves. Hiding tags because "they would not be able to prove their point if tagged" is like babysitting scammers. They are capable of defending themselves in discussions.

I agree, politics or serious discussion shouldn't show trust. But any section where people can trade or give "advice" of any kind, trust should be displayed. I think it's important that users know if the person scammed someone before or not. Like Beginners and Help.

Someone is advertising a website for creation of vanity addresses and there were reports that BTC was stolen form such addresses.

And the local boards should make trust visible on every board, the scammers are not that dumb to know it and post the topic in a section where trust isn't visible, like Projektentwicklung (project development).
We have no Mod to move scam topics to an appropriate section, so the scammers can organize their shitshow pretty well. Of course, such topics are always selfmoderated.  Roll Eyes

Here is our famous scammer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5093626.0  Cheesy

And in regards of getting a new moderator:

We really need a new Mod for things like that. I recommend Lafu but we still have a discussion if anyone else wants to become Moderator or Backup-Moderator to avoid situations like right now, when the German section is out of any Moderator.

Immediate remedy for the lack of moderation in the German board would be to promote him again.

When in doubt, I prefer to show the trust in more areas.
With the argument from "asche" we could not show the member status. Or even the position status, because maybe there is a technical discussion in which a
global mod is wrong and the newbie right.
For me this is also a patronizing of the readership. It imply that readers can not independently differentiate between content and trust

Yes, I can agree that phantastisch did a very good job and I would support him to get back into this position. We have discussed who is interested in doing the job of a second mod and the German community came to the following conclusion (so far):

phantastisch (first moderator, if accepted again)

Another Bump  Cheesy
I had asked for it in the past, and I could not find any response to my request.

Almost all local boards do not show trust especially in sections that need for it like (Altcoins) sections 'Arabic, Indonesian, Español, Croatian,...etc', Mining (Bahasa Indonesia), Hardware y Minería.

Also, the need for a DT member of each local section.

Also, the need for a DT member of each local section.

You should check the DT guidelines again.

You can "vote" yourself for a DT person.
Unlike mods DT's "powers" are not limited to a board.

If there is no one in your board that does fit the DT requirement, you won't get any unless a DT1 adds someone to his trust list. This again is unlikely without trusting the person since it wouldn't be possible to review feedbacks based on foreign postings.
