So far this pretty awful scam has approached me 2 times now with both attempts failed.

Here is the sites involved and where they were captured/snapshotted in the web archive site in case sites get taken down;
neocrypt.tech > https://web.archive.org/web/20190123172929/https://neocrypt.tech/
cryptoexpo.net > https://web.archive.org/web/20190123173537/https://cryptoexpo.net/
[EDIT]Here are some new ones reported;
expohills.com > https://web.archive.org/web/20190201190216/https://expohills.com/
expocrypt.com > https://web.archive.org/web/20190218135012/https://expocrypt.com/
moontrade.info > https://web.archive.org/web/20190226014904/https://moontrade.info/

First time happened few months ago with a guy private messaging me in discord (or telegram) saying that he needed help withdrawing his 1+ BTC and would give some btc as reward as reward for helping, he would get you to make a wallet on the site and transfer, once he transfers you this fake btc he will ask you to withdraw, when you try to withdraw the site will give the following message and asks you to deposit, the scammer here is relying on you to be greedy.
im guessing once a victim does deposit it will ask you to deposit further times and then the dude will probably block you after he got his monies.

2nd time i got contacted by someone "from china" and asks you to help him cash back btc because of China crypto ban, you can see one user here on another thread exposing the scam site with some technical information, props to him; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5070938
once the scammer does this he will do the same thing by offering a reward, then will try to play the pity and blame card if you ask him to deposit himself/herself once the message pops up.

hope you are now aware of this, stay safe and aware.

You are perfectly right.
I was contacted by these guys. The first one, I went through all the process. When it got to the deposit for withdrawal I told him I don't have btc so he should send me some $ through perfect money. He blocked me after that.
I wonder when this cyber crime will ever end. Spoiling this beautiful community.

IIRC this is an old scam strategy. I'm not sure which site previously use this trick to scam users, but I'm sure cryptoexpo is not the first and the last one. They'll probably start another site with the same purpose. But their trick will be the same. Be careful, don't trust any random guy asking for help especially on the internet.

Today someone telegram me same pattern of scam.. But the website have duplicate to a link: https://expohills.com

I did google expohills.com n there's no result found in google unless u type the direct link to the website.. Google result only show their previous website https://cryptoexpo.net/ & https://neocrypt.tech/

I registered an account under https://neocrypt.tech/ it surprises me that expohills.com are exactly the same design.. Even u can read the live chat from expohills.com(my friend registered an account in expohills.com..
We view different link of website.. But saw the same live chat..

So i decided to went in expohills.com without registration..  I login my neocrypt.tech account in there.. N walla.. I'm able to enter expohills.com using the same email n password from neocrypt.tech..

So this is an update of the new website link.. Hope this help to be more aware..

https://bitsane.tech/terms is the same website too but this one without registration.. Look like incomplete website..

Someone needs to shut them down, cant believe how easy it is for them to go around and prey on the vulnerable. One way would be to bring awareness about scams, perhaps like a guide to people starting in Crypto.
They even have new sites everyday, ill put the new one in main message above, thanks for posting btw.

Good on you for picking up on the scam.

All of these exchange scams use sort of the same procedure of scamming people. They usually open a cex.io clone of some sort (each time they do it under a different domain name), then have shills that have sob stories on discord which lures people into helping them, and eventually, you are asked to send BTC directly to either the discord shill or the fake site itself, without actually receiving anything yourself.

Unfortunately, it will be extremely hard for anyone to completely shut down this type of scam due to the fact that scammers are able to essentially open new impersonator sites and use different accounts each time that they conduct the same scam. You just need to use your common sense here, no one legit would trust you with this high amount of BTC without there being some type of catch.

i see i think making a list of them and what you said above about them usually opening a clone of cex.io should be a big red flag, i just got hit by another one, xd https://expocrypt.com. thanks for the reply Cheesy

I'm curious, are they creating a fake site of other trading sites? Moontrade is also the name of an exchange (Moontrade.org).
I still don't understand how they still trying to scam the same person which don't fall to their previous traps (expohills etc). Either they're too stupid or they hope for a miracle.

I just shocked at reading this news. People are now start scamming about crypto coins. How much true this news is: https://all-stocks.net/australian-authorities-arrested-21-year-old-for-crypto-fraud-and-money-laundering/? If the market isn't stable yet people will not invest in other projects.
