The New Zealand exchange was hacked recently, but the lack of updates and slow response have harmed Cryptopia greatly.

Could it be an inside job? So far there was no a lot of update regarding the case that created by cryptopia itself. The crap exchange sites lack of update to their security system. that put all of the money into the risk. if this continue and DEX will take over the centralized exchange site.

The attack on cryptopia has a lot of disadvantages and it was a shame that an exchange as big as Cryptics currency
Does not have a cold storage

But what happens to token owners? Is there any insurance policy ??

The cryptopia hacked only referenced warnings preached to every crupto currency owner
Don’t take the risk of leaving your funds on the exchange platform for days

Take out your funds, especially bitcoin etherum or stable assets bought

They said on Twitter that they are individually securing all their remaining wallets, and there's been no signs of ongoing draining.
At most, their losses are estimated around 9.4% of their total holdings - https://chainbulletin.com/cryptopia-sheds-light-on-the-amount-of-funds-stolen-by-hackers/

Interesting article, thanks for sharing.
If this is true, then their profits from previous years should be more than enough to cover losses, so the exchange would continue to be functinoal. Wondering how much time they'd stay in read only mode.

I cannot access the site it shows this error

The page you requested generated a server error and could not be processed. You might try refreshing the page. If you continue to get this message, you should contact the site owner.

Anyway it really harmed the site and they will have no business to get back once the site is up because it is going to the path of MTGOX and there are more credible and new exchange to compete with, it's really a game over for Cryptopia

There's a lot of non sense things in this case. No one will trust them again until the team can try to recover the amount that has already stolen by the scammer dude. You must see that about how terrible it's in this time. This is a shitty exchange with thousand of shitty coins.

According to their update i believe that, they will eventually come back in full scale and stay up. After their recent hacked there wasn't any update from them but the news coming from them now seem they are working on the remaining wallet which were not hacked, which i think is pretty much good for those who are left with some fractions of Bitcoin and altcoins in their wallet.

Well I think what happened was beyond the control of the project and there should be some sort of compassion to affected people

Exchanges are always the "bulls-eye" when hackers are deploying their resources, they only need a single vulnerable spot to wreck havoc. I use cryptopia and I was fortunate not to have any of my trading funds at the exchange. Ideally, they should consider reimbursing those who lost some funds. They should bear the loss since not all the wallets were affected.
