New Zealand has performed well so far, but I guess it will be tough to defeat South Africa. Remember that South Africa is the only team that managed to defeat India so far in this tournament. The final is most likely to be played between India and South Africa. India need to get past England during the second semi-final though. But given the fact that England seems to be the weakest team out of the four semi-finalists, it is not going to be an uphill task for the Indians. BTW, odds are heavily tilted towards South Africa. For England, the strength has been their spinners (Adil Rashid, Liam Dawson and Rehan Ahmed). But who handles the spinners better than Indian batsmen? IMO, it should be relatively easy for India. But again, toss can be very important and some players such as Samson has the habit of scoring a series of single digit scores immediately after getting to a big knock. Now coming to South Africa, they are the eternal chokers of world cricket. But I think they will get around the label this time, as they have remained unbeaten so far. And their players have been in decent form.

Very well played by New Zealand so far in this game. They got early couple of wickets and it really boost their confidence but I just hope they would not repeat their mistakes that they did in the super 8 games and that is not related to the performance or game play, it is related to mind set when the game was almost one sided for New Zealand against England but at the end somehow the scenario changed and what we saw New Zealand lost the game till the last over. This is disadvantage of taking any situation lightly or being over confident.

Even South Africa is all set for having a spot in the final and also winning this World Cup, still big pressure games have surprises while South Africa still needs to prove that they can handle pressure games better.
The Afghanistan game was really close even though I was expecting they would overthrow them, New Zealand's performance is also not consistent in this event and due to these, people are expecting South Africa to go through and have the upper hand in this game.

New Zealand is having some problems, while their bowlers have some depth but need more work to do. Rachin Ravindra is a man with a golden arm and can give surprises with ball. I have wagered on New Zealand for this first semi final. Right now, after power play, South Africa is at 48 runs for 2 wickets.

Ryan batted so poor on this big game and he scored 0 runs today. Aiden and Dewald is batting now and In this game, predicting winner is very difficult task. Sometimes it is very easy to predict winner of game by looking at team’s past effort and their points but in this 1 st semi final both teams have worked very hard to qualify in this stage. It is not right to make prediction at start of game and even now South Africa winning chance are 50,50.
