Choice by New Zealand to play first in the 2026 T20 world cup final turned out to be a mistake as it gave top part of India, who were in better form, the chance to score a huge score of 255. MAS player Singh scored 31 runs, this effort was nice but it could not be more powerful, Aziz scored 26 and Syahadat scored 27 runs, this was a misfortune with their performing which BRN took advantage of. I was especially disappointed as Malaysia has a 100% native squad, while Bahrain doesn't have any citizens in their playing XI. Malaysia used to be one of the strongest teams in Asia, before mercenary teams such as Bahrain overtook them with help from imported players. Unfortunately, the outcome of this series proves that this trend is continuing.

Prashant Kurup has been one of the most consistent players for Bahrain over the years ever since he made his debut in 2021. And that is rare with the GCC teams, as players usually go back to the sub-continent after 2-3 years. He is 38 years now, and I am not sure for how long he will continue to represent Bahrain. During the 3rd T20I, Imran Khan's 4-wicket haul was what set up the win. And then it was left for Prashant and Yaseer Nazeer to chase down the target. Prashant had a good series, scoring a total of 101 runs in 3 matches. Malaysia has a young squad, so there is scope for improvement. But their recent form has been disappointing.

Malaysia ranks lower than Bahrain in ICC T20I team ratings. So I don't think that they took them lightly, even after having the home advantage. Bahrain has performed decently over the years, but they are unable to break into the level of Oman and United Arab Emirates (both these teams have participated in the ICC T20 World Cup). This maybe due to the smaller player pool that is available in Bahrain, compared to the other GCC nations. Malaysia on the other hand has degraded a bit, especially in comparison with the teams from GCC region. Same is applicable to their neighbors (Singapore) as well.

Well, he did that for over 2 decades then only players like Shewag, Yuvi, Laxman and Dravid came into the picture but no one can deny we were in a situation for very long time that if Sachin lost his wicket, then we would not win the match.

Main point is bowlers are second class citizens in cricket because it's a batter's game.

Majority of the Japanese players are of mixed parentage, with the father mostly from countries such as Australia and the mother from Japan. Anyway, they have Japanese citizenship, so I don't have any issues with them representing Japan. In case of Singapore that is not the case. Now they are a 100% expat team. A few decades ago, they had a mix of natives and expats, but now the team is 100% expat. And this shift can be noticed among many of the associate teams around the world, and not just from Asia. On the other hand, the African teams have maintained mostly native squads.

Multan Region secured big 74 runs win against Karachi Region Blues in National T20 Cup where they scored powerful 201 runs. Captain Imam-ul-Haq led way with fast 71 runs, and bowlers, especially Mohammad Ismail who got three wickets, did excellent job defending total. Karachi Blues struggled to keep up despite quick 43 runs from Usman Khan, and they were all bowled out for only 127 runs and they played almost 16 overs. This impressive performance has moved Multan Region to top of Group B, putting them in great position to reach semi finals.

Always good to see forgotten players like Imam-ul-Haq among the runs again. He is just 30 years old, but his career is all but over. The last time he played in PSL was in 2020, and the last time he represented Pakistan in T20I format was long back, in 2019. He has been branded as a test player not suitable for limited overs cricket, and has been excluded from this format for quite some time. During the match against Karachi Region Blues, he scored 71 from 40 balls. One single innings may not make it possible for him to get into the PSL, but repeated performances can get attention from important people.

Sam Curran is decent but nothing game changing, and fwiw be should be playing somewhere up preferably at number 3 instead of at lower middle order, he can't bat aggressive dunno why he bats where he does.

I just looked at Punjab's jersey for this season, and already feel they ain't gonna do anything this season either (yeah, I judge teams from their jersey), and Delhi looks hopeless by their mere squad.

All I hope is, GT will have Philips in playing XI guaranteed. Man can hope, no? I just feel mesmerized by his fielding.
