Always good to see forgotten players like Imam-ul-Haq among the runs again. He is just 30 years old, but his career is all but over. The last time he played in PSL was in 2020, and the last time he represented Pakistan in T20I format was long back, in 2019. He has been branded as a test player not suitable for limited overs cricket, and has been excluded from this format for quite some time. During the match against Karachi Region Blues, he scored 71 from 40 balls. One single innings may not make it possible for him to get into the PSL, but repeated performances can get attention from important people.

It is sad that Imam-ul-Haq is being ignored yet he is still in his best years but his latest play of 71 runs off 40 balls shows that he could fit into busy modern T20 cricket. His missing in major leagues since 2020 could maybe be blamed on opinion of people about his style and not lack of skill to play since his high average in other styles shows he is very steady player.
And you are right Imam can save his career just like other top level batters who had managed to change their game in the same way. Single good game is very good start, yet he must do such shows of high scoring couple of times more.

Hyped for IPL 2026 which is going to start in a few weeks. I guess the biggest question is if Samson can maintain his epic form after getting traded to CSK in this new season while RR got 2 great players(Jaddu and Curran) in return implying a mutually beneficial deal.

I hope this year will finally be the year when the zero win curse breaks for Punjab or Delhi. Excited!

He set the world cup on fire. But still, I would rate Samson as one of the most over-rated cricketers in India at this point. IMO, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan are much more consistent. Even during his time at Rajasthan Royals, Samson wasn't able to do much. Now CSK hopes that he will be able to win the trophy for them. And they are exchanging two of their best players (Jadeja and Curran), so that Samson can play for them. And this can easily backfire upon them. Already they have to deal with the burden of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who refuses to retire and eat up one position in the XI.

Sam Curran is decent but nothing game changing, and fwiw be should be playing somewhere up preferably at number 3 instead of at lower middle order, he can't bat aggressive dunno why he bats where he does ( his batting tanked tho).

Good thing about sam curran is that he's not tom curran. He also managed to get MOT in ICC t-20 wc, which helped and stock went up for a season but in IPL context he's consider valuable because of all rounder tag.

Combining his trade with jadeja, it was an expensive one but RR rightly feel good about it if you look at what they bring at table. Even in worse day this duo will give minimum 6 overs and gives a assurance of deep batting at least on paper.

This season CSK is mixed bag.

In batting they have brevis, Mhatre and dube ji along with rutu and probably sanju as opener in case Mhatre going 1 down. Add dhoni for just vibes and sometimes can give handy runs in backend. Miya sarfu is also there and he seems to be good knick but jury is still out for him in T-20.

Bowling looks decent to me if Henry, Akiel and noor starting in the playing XI. Not a big fan of overton.

All I hope is, GT will have Philips in playing XI guaranteed. Man can hope, no? I just feel mesmerized by his fielding.

Yeah. Dude is one of the most sensational fielders out there and is a good looking guy too which improves the style factor when taking those insane catches out of nowhere.

Agreed. Curran recovered his form with both bat and ball while Jadeja is an invaluable all rounder due to which RR should be happy currently. Just hope Punjab or Delhi go all the way this time around.
