Will Amazon accept crypto if Bitcoin skyrocket again?

There are a lot of small shops which accept crypto payments around the world. However, in my opinion, what will really push the cryptocurrencies forward is the adoption of Bitcoin by some big player in the trading industry, such as Amazon.

What do you think, will Amazon start to accept Bitcoin as a payment method if its price rises to new-record values again (like in 2017)? Could it be that they are not adopting it because they treat crypto as a hostile technology for their business? Or they just don't take Bitcoin seriously, like thinking it will despair in the near future?

I do believe that it is not the high price or skyrocket price that is going to bring adoptions of bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies in future but it is going to be stability and trust!  The pumping up and dumping is not really helping cryptocurrencies market outside creating popularity but for big retailers and wholesalers business to adopt bitcoin it most be stable.  Business men will not use money or currency that do pump up and down.

I just read a thread that you could now shop on amazon with Bitcoin.
And I think in the future we could also use our crypto with almost everything.
There are some fast foodchain or restaurant that already accepts crypto and now an online shop and let's not forget the other things that are already accepting it as a payment.

Actually its fully depends on their business policy but as Amazon is worlds one of the largest shop they must take research about it and they will put new technology, system into their business so that they can catch market. As we are crypto lover we can hope about that so that crypto market will go rocking.

Agree that we can shop on Amazon with bitcoin but with the condition that bitcoin has stability, the value of bitcoin needs to be maintained at a relative level with low volatility to become a payment method, and don't stop there, Amazon needs to be able to manage and control transactions through bitcoin. But these problems are really impossible when we can see the value of bitcoin fluctuates every day, and it is a system that cannot be easily managed, accepting bitcoin is a good idea for Amazon but it can hardly become a reality

Amazon will only accept bitcoin when BTC proves it has no mempool problems. Also, taking an hour for 6 confirmations is pretty long - and if the mempool backs up, it will take even longer.

Bitcoin is unusable because of this. If a cryptocurrency does take off, it will be something that confirms within a few minutes with no backlogs at all.

There's no clear benefit for Amazon to accept bitcoin as of now. Maybe someday once crypto is sustainable by most businesses or if it's widely accepted as a mode of payment they might consider it.

If bitcoin skyrocket again the fees will also do the same so as the time required to receive your confirmations. If now you pay about 0.5$ fees and you wait 1-2 hours to receive 6 confirmations, when the price skyrocket you will probably have to pay fees going up to 5-10$ and even so you would have to wait at least a couple hours to receive even 1 confirmation. So until this problem is fixed none of those big merchants are going to add bitcoin as a payment method.

Nothing can say for sure previously in crypto market. I don't know whether or not Amazon will accept bitcoin, it largely depends their developed policy. If they find out that accepting bitcoin can help them make a good benefit, they are more likely to accept bitcoin and vice versa. Amazon is viewed an independently developed enterprise, if it does not accept bitcoin, still it can continuously boost itself. Bitcoin has been having an increasing sign, that's the biggest expectation of us.

Amazon is going to be least concerned about the exchange rate of Bitcoin. If that was the case, then they could have accepted BTC when the exchange rates peaked in 2017. The truth is that they have such a monopoly right now in the online shopping sector, and they feel no need to attract new users. I would say that their user-base has almost saturated.

Just yesterday, on the Telegram channel, I saw this news, that Amazon is now accepting bitcoins. Maybe Amazon even doesn't know that somebody paying with bitcoin but for sure is happy if it can boost sale and bring more profit
Yet another big news is that Japanise e-commerce giant Rakuten is testing payments with crypto.Rakuten is same bi in Japan like Amazon in USA

Well i also heard about this announcement from Amazon about the acceptance of Bitcoin in the future. This is actually a great idea to have such a big and large marketplace supporting the use of cryptocurrencies in making purchases of their products. Hopefully, this might be the right step in getting bitcion to be adopted by the world.

I have the opposite point of view. Amazon, being the richest and the largest marketplace, does not need Bitcoin. It is not going to take even the slightest risk. Their income is so huge that BTC will not change anything.

If their customers demand that they accept Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrency and they still ignore the demand or request, then developers will one day set up a huge commerce online shop like Amazon if Amazon will not take the demand, because there is a market that needs a shop like Amazon that will accept cryptocurrency.
