Depends on how and where you look at it. Even other prominent figures in the community are telling the same thing: bitcoin is better than 2018 due to the platforms lined up and waiting to be launched together with the positive perception of some governments regarding bitcoin. While we are going strong on the fundamentals right now, I'd say that we're still far from recovering or gaining traction price wise. The market needs more than new platforms and services; it needs demand, too.

the "crypto space" is too big to only be limited by the price. and because of that I'd say that it has been in a very good shape even in 2018 that price has been falling. in fact most part of that fall has been healthy for both bitcoin (the part when the bitcoin bubble burst not the part when it dropped way too low) and for altcoins as they needed to get dumped to go back down to their real values instead of their fake bloated bubbles that they used to have. and obviously as prices reach the reality the market also becomes healthier.

but as I said the "crypto space" is too big. it also consists of the developments that are done in this space and it has been more or less the same as ever. we see some small innovations here and there while the copycat coins are still at large.

When it comes to a common user he describes that the cryptocurrency market is good if the price keeps on growing or it is in the peak of adoption. Technically Binance CEO might look the market and I feel in that perspective cryptocurrency market in 2019 looks better than the market in 2018.

He can always smile no matter what the market situation is and always making good profit. Maybe he is just trying to give morale to those who are in sorrows right now. Positive things are happening in crypto but good price don't come easily due to rampant manipulation, we need strong a strong catalyst for this market to recover but I guess we need to wait more.

The people of the crypto world, especially the people who have invested a lot of money in the crypto world and those who win many bitcoins are always spreading their optimism. But that optimism serves to convince more investors to enter the crypto market so that the price will increase a lot and the guys who have invested a lot of money in that market and the people who earn a lot of bitcoin will get a lot of profits. This is looking like the HYIP/PONZI sites where people are trying to convince more investors to invest in the ponzi site so the early investors get paid.

Bitcoin, do not need that kind of advertising, people should see the great advantages that bitcoin has and if these people like these advantages, then these people will buy bitcoin.

Maybe there will be a recovery in 2019, we know that in 2018 there has been a continuous decline. I hope that in 2019 there will be news about the clarity for the crypto market going green and of course ending this bear season.

I mean, he isn't wrong in the fact that cryptocurrencies are getting better as years go. Why? Development goes on, shitcoins go bust. But does that automatically mean you're going to see green candles? Hell no. To see those green candles you're going to need either adoption or hype. Stop being overly focused on price rises.

the "crypto space" which consists of thousands of altcoins has been in a very bad place starting from mid 2017 but people were blind to it because these shitcoins and ICO tokens were getting pumped and they could make profit from those pumps. the same people are now complaining why the whole market is down. that is why! they damaged the whole system even bitcoin's market by creating a massive altcoin bubble that still continues bursting and pulls everything down.

Just imagine what would happen if the CEO of Binance gave a negative opinion on Bitcoin's future. Who would still use their services, if they do not believe in it's future?

The problem is not only about optimism. Everything could be fine if those people could provide decent research that proves they are invested in a profitable technology. From 2017 and until now people are still sure that their altcoin will bring them money and market will recover soon just because it should.

Just imagine what would happen if the CEO of Binance gave a negative opinion on Bitcoin's future. Who would still use their services, if they do not believe in it's future?

True. People will just transfer their money to another exchange. If CEO of exchange think that technology he work with soon will fall then it is unsafe to give him your "unsafe" money.

I don't expect less words of optimism from him. He won't want to chase away investors, he makes money in every market which is key. If a bank is ailing and about to collapse, the management will tell you they are in their best moment, and some will go ahead and steal from customers in order to post huge profit, the next you may see is that they have been acquired, that is called "Act Of The Deal". Although I share same feeling that 2018 will be better.

It is safe to say that 2019 is a better year for the cryptocurrency.
As we saw 2018 is full of mess and disappointment.
We are now in a recovering year, unlike last year that we started at the peak.

Someone that profits off the crypto markets will always say positive things. lol, What do you expect him to say? That crypto is dead and there are a ton of scams?  He is in this business to make a profit and exchanges have had a very bad year in 2018.

Well I do believe him because it is quite obvious for me to say that bitcoin is at a better place than 2018. Bitcoin did go to the lowest point in last 1.5 years but it is holding the price well now.
The history has shown us that the price of bitcoin increases before every halving and the next halving is approaching soon. There are many other positive things in the near future for bitcoin.
Besides that the number of countries legalizing bitcoin is growing every year. These reasons are enough to know that bitcoin might increase in price any time soon.

While it's true that initially the market went down due to some articles about ICO bans and regulations, we cannot solely blame shitcoins for the bearish market. After all, Bitcoin's value was also growing in value too fast with people who couldn't care less about decentralization or blockchain started buying the crypto insanely fast. These people panicked when minor things were happening, and eventually the prices went down too much. During the bullish market, altcoins are drawing some investments to them, so in a way they even prevent the bubbling effect.

I think it's early to say that we are in a year of recovery. Not enough time has passed, and the prices have been relatively stable. We can see small steps up, but the future can easily overwrite them into minor fluctuations.

It's true, I also see that there is a potential above $ 25K based on technical analysis. That potential continues to grow confident when a lot of positive news about crypto and several financial companies have begun to open their minds from the crypto bad perception. I also agree with Changpeng's statement, although there are still signs of a decline for now. The market will experience a sideways, then it will jump.
