Base on your detail explanation, other cryptocurrency exchanges are not decentralized exchange platform? If they are not, then why do they classify themselves as being a decentralized platform?
The confusing part for ppl is the "EX" of "DEX". i.e., what constitutes an "exchange". All are non-custodial. (The "D" is not without its controversy as well...as in the degree of decentralisation to qualify for being a DEX). So there is a broad spectrum of what constitutes a DEX. Like LEVERJ is going to be a hybrid DEX, non-custodial, but with centralized order book and matching (secured by fraud proofs). https://blog.leverj.io/gluon-plasma-security-9d422180ade9
Whoever mines the block which ends up containing your transaction will get its fee.

Very informative and give done insights for beginners. Some of them were new to me but it gives easier for us to check as it have links.
I'll be looking out of them the one that could have a satisfying transactions fees and mostly of them were just the same. And the next, will see the team configuration and to trace if they are legit or not.

Decentralized exchanges have been the real backbone of the present crypto universe, they promote anonymity the power of decentralization and offers equal opportunity to all projects that require listing on exchanges.
IDEX is my favorite erc20 DEX, its site is relatively light, very responsive and the ethereum blockchain means it is also fast and secure.
This is my personal best of all the ERC 20 based decentralized exchanges
IDEX is only decentralized exchange that I use. Decentralized exchanges are not that user friendly like centralized exchanges, and it seems to me that market really does not appriciate decentralized exchanges, especially if we compare daily users of centralized exchanges and decentralized exchanges. Despite of that, I would like to have at least an option to choose between these two, just like we have right now.

This thread is really making sense to me. You took time to put up a good post on DEX, thumbs up. Actually, the DEX I use most times is IDEX. Before I use forkdelta but with time, I lost interest due to some drawbacks. I will also advise, do not import your private key directly to decentralized exchanges, it's risky. Use metamask or other web3 extensions. Thanks

Surprising, there are so many DEX I never knew. Out of this massive list, I only use Crypto Bridge and Allbit. Often I try to avoid DEX for its slow loading process, limited listed coins, and small trade volume. I think we need a clean and faster DEX for everyone so it gets more liquidity.

Sometimes using decentralized exchange is is better because the volume is not easy to faked.
I don't expect you can tell many decentralized exchange. What i know most decentralized exchanges are in ETH coin, like : IDEX, DDEX, etherdelta, forkdelta, etc.. Your information is very useful for users.

There is no highland of knowledge. Advises, suggestions, corrections and the likes are welcome, peradventure there is any. I look forward to update this thread with more DEXes as they lunch. This might also come from you. Therefore, if it is genuine and reliable, i will also add it. Thanks for your anticipated contributions.

Thank you so much for the information about DEX. You explained it very well. The thing i like the most about DEX is i don't need to disclose my identity in order to trade there and it also more secured than centralized exchanges. BTW I'm surprised that there's a lot of DEX around. I only knew idex, forkdelta and bancor before.

Idex and etherdelta are the most common decentralized exchange I use especially when I want to buy erc20 tokens or when I want to sell it. For regular trading, I still use the centralized one since I mostly trade in btc/fiat pair. Decentralized exchange is good at one side but centralized exchange still better at some points.

Advantage for decentralized exchange is you can trade anonymously and you can take advantage buying on dump tokens from bounty hunters.
I use IDEX over Etherdelta  because it's more popular now and has a cleaner interface compared to Etherdelta but I think there will be a big decentralized exchange that is soon to come, which is the Binance Dex.

New Binance DEX Testnet Launches in Less Than 24 Hours: Here’s What Users Need to Know

Thanks for the update. It is a good development. This is one of the DEXes that many are anticipating will be the biggest. At least, it will create a lot of competitions among all others.
By the time the Mainnet lunches, i will do the update.
I have been waiting for it.

Saw this on Twitter this morning, "The Binance "DEX" is as much a DEX as JPM coin is a cryptocurrency. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

The lunch of the BinanceDEX testnet which will be on the Binance chain, is a good development, considering the speeds at which it is operating. Very soon, we will be seeing more traders on decentralized exchanges.
Transaction speed has been an issue for decentralized exchanges and I think BinanceDEX is one of the DEXes that will be solving it.

Decentralised exchanges are the true peer to peer exchanges, best for anonymity of transactions, low transaction fees and no maximum withdrawal unlike in centralised exchanges.

Thank you of course for the selection of exchanges , but of course in all these exchanges there is the only main disadvantage of little liquidity on all coins and sometimes have to wait for weeks or months to someone bought .

I also more often use dex for erc20 tokens trading for it is more complete list of tokens, though the volume of certain tokens may become my reason not to trade there. I use cex only for trading with fiat pair. I guess both dex and cex have each advantages and disadvantages.

I came across an exchange which calls itself a DEX, yet, it is asking users for kyc, most especially none Koreans. The name of DEX is Allbit.
If you do not get your kyc done, there is limit to the amount you can withdraw.
My concern now, is that, should that be called a DEX?

I always choose decentralized exchanges like 0x, CDEX. I found them more reliable and really trust them. Because Blockchain technology actually base on decentralized. Thats why i prefer it.

DEXes are great and very safe, but the problem is that there are too many trading pairs and if you a trader it is not so efficient to trade on DEXes. Thats why we need a decentralised exchange will a lot of trading pairs and great volume.

I believe that decentralized exchanges will actively develop in the near future. It seems to me that many people trust such exchanges more than ordinary ones.
