Isn't this initiative rather dangerous. I mean, walking around woth your cold wallet on you. That's like telling a whole bunch of people you meet wherever you go that hey look, I have cash on me and I've got it all on my hand. Anyways even if someone can't use it after stealing, it is still dangerous walking around telling people you have money.

The same can be said about carrying a conventional wallet holding fiat. I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to carry a lot of crypto on your wrist. This is more likely intended as a wallet for small (daily) transactions.

Hey, Guy. U don`t know much about China. China is Very safe, nobody dares to rube u even u walk alone on the street during midnight. I thought currently they are mainly selling in China, that's y they consider more on convenience and hardware safety than the risk of been rubbing. But It's not wise to do it in any other countries.

Yeah, we know that users in different areas have different concerns. So they must have different demands for cold wallets. That`s why we also have
  • Razor
A Card Design Hardware Wallet
  • Frozen Armor
A newly-made Seeds/Mnemonics Storage
And u can buy them easily via Amazon and Indiegogo (will attach link later)

I like the concept but I can't find anything regarding the device security. It kind of reminds me of the BitFi hardware wallet, which was just cheap Chinese hardware and very easy to hack.

Chinese products with cheap price but low quality? I must say: not us.
As u can see in the description: 1、We have 5 years experience in cryptocurrency wallet development;2、We have good reputation in China mainland、Japan and Hong Kong etc;3、We have the capability to support multiple blockchain like: Bitcoin、Ethereum、EOS、Tron blockchain etc. And we are planning support Lightning Network.
But your concern and suggestions are reasonable. We are appreciate for all the feedback either. And I am glad that I can also introduce u the other two products we are selling:【Razor】a card design cold wallet & 【Frozen Armor】a newly-made Seeds/Mnemonics Recovery .
U can check out the links below
【Razor】https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5118062.msg50060978#msg50060978

I guess it will go under the disguise of just a simply watch, unless you tell others that you have a cold wallet in you. But nevertheless, I won't be comfortable as well, I'm not a frequent traveler but I guess this is what the company is targeting as a potential customer. I guess more questions will be raise once their product roll out in April, so let's see how it pans out.

I also have second thought buying this watch, I am very private when it comes to storing my coins, I will never go out of the house with all my coins with me, it's too risky, even if people do not know that you have your cryptos in your watch.

The watch is one of our Cold wallet products and in China u don`t need to worry  too much about it. But also we have Razor, a card design cold wallet. It will match ur needs.  Check this out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5122243.0

The same can be said about carrying a conventional wallet holding fiat. I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to carry a lot of crypto on your wrist. This is more likely intended as a wallet for small (daily) transactions.

Exactly - the watch should be marketed as a hot wallet, not cold wallet.

I agree, Bitpie should call it as wearable hot/hardware wallet instead of cold (as introduced on first post)
advertising it as wearable cold wallet would confuse newcomers on the basic idea of a cold wallet
you wouldn't carry your (true) cold wallet everywhere you go, would you? Roll Eyes

To tell a wallet is "cold" or "hot", the only standard is whether it's connected to network or not. Bitpie is a hot wallet; and BitHD is a cold wallet.

Although most people won't carry a cold wallet along with them when going out, some people do have the need of carrying a cold wallet with them when going out. If someone is on a business trip, he must have a safer way of carrying a cold wallet. BitHD is very suitable for this occasion.

Clearly, the more broaderly applicable wallet is Razor, because it can be put right into your cardholder/ pocket.
About Razor: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5118062.msg50060978#msg50060978

Nevertheless, which one is better depends on users' specific preference and needs.

Nice but not very interesting for me. Without going into software detail, I wouldn't feel safe turning my money around with my wrist.
The idea of running around with lots of money scares me at the thought.

First of all, BitHD series are 100% open-source, check it out: https://github.com/bithd .
The software is a secondary development based on Trezor source code.

Secondly, we do not only inherit the merits and security foundation of Trezor, we also add a lot of new features to enhance the security especially to the wearable wallet model.

A simple example: if a thief stole your Bithd Watch, the PIN code input attempts intervals would increase (e.g. 5s, 10s, 30s, 1min, 5min…) as he tries to breach your wallet.
Given that, you, as the owner, have enough time to restore your wallet with the seeds/private keys on a new BitHD Watch or a hot wallet once you realize you have lost your watch.

World's first PAX multisig wallet is now supported by Bitpie/BITHD
Recently the wallet service provider Bitpie announced PAX multi-signature is now available and open to public as world's first. Multi-signature can be easily understood as a digital asset managed by multiple private keys. This function is often used by organization for digital assets management, while the multi-signature scheme based on cold wallet has higher security level and is honored by most professional users. After this update, global users are able to manage PAX assets more securely with multiple cold wallets.
Bitpie is a professional blockchain wallet service provider that has been focused on the blockchain wallet for more than six years and has served millions of users worldwide safely. The team consists of professional cryptographers, technical experts and financial professionals. Bitpie has previously received investment from a well-known bank.

"Don't Trust. Verify."

#BitHD is 100% open sourced. How to Verify BitHD Razor Wallet Firmware Source Code???

Here is the tutorial: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5235828.new#new

Now, based on the prepared firmware image, anyone can build the same signed image by signatures uploaded in code repository on https://github.com/bithd/bithd-mcu/blob/master/README.md

I ordered one from Amazon. Delivery estimate is  May 19, 2020 - June 10, 2020 is that normal or is it because of the corona mess?
I know I posed about it before but having stock for delivery in other locations might help you sell more.
Will post a review once it arrives.

Stay safe.
