This news is very old, I have been hearing this since December 2017, that Facebook will have crypto coin! Maybe he planned for it, but by seeing the longtime bear condition in the crypto market, he postponed the plan! But to gain more big companies, we needed facebook coin right now. So, As the news again started spreading then this time we can expect the FB coin very soon?

I think it's just a matter of time that they will introduce their coin. I believe it's already in place, just waiting for the right timing to launch.

It seems like the FB founder has nothing but positive things to say about blockchain technology.

There are rumours going around that he will release a cryptocurrency for use on WhatsApp, but given the privacy and censorship concerns over FB, I can't see many people going for it.

He is a latecomer but still a good development for the crypto community, he should be very big names in a financial and social network have voiced out their support, he does not want to be the only one left in the field.

I really doubt about him releasing his own cryptocurrency until the tech have matured more. For now i would think it would be a legal nightmare to be responsible of something that basically is leaving all the responsibility to the end user.

Indeed when Facebook began an initiative to issue their own coins then that is the remarkable thing. However, I think it would be better if they deepen this first because it's unfortunate if it does explode considering they do have a pretty good capital with big names. If this can be realized then good things will also have an impact on the whole crypto.

Maybe now many people are being afraid that but with the growth and popularity of Facebook, when they have their own coin, it will be used widely. Let's wait and see

As long as the countries whose residents use Facebook do not form a legislative base regarding cryptocurrencies, Facebook will not implement anything. This may cause him great legal costs and prohibitions.

If this will happen i am expecting a short time sold out of their public sale and i also hope that they will open it to public and not just with private investors.

This sly and very rich guy has got really a lot of cryptocurrencies.  I am more than sure of it. He simply does not want to tell anybody about its actives. Mark has Bitcoins, and probably, Ethereum.

Blockchain is the technology of the future, so it would be strange if someone like Zuckenberg would not be interested in it. I think it is only a matter of time when Facebook will create its own cryptocurrency. I think that when this happens, we will be able to talk about entering the mainstream.

I believe that many big company leaders in the world have a positive thoughts to blockchain but they just afraid to jump in because... yeah you know blockchain techology is very good but it's still a lots of speculation rather than real product.

He's been a tech guy thru and thru. So it would not be surprising if he has a lot of altcoins in hand. He's in the IT industry for so long that blockchain is not really new to him. He understands well the benefits of revolutionizing the blockchain in various industries. I'm just expressing my thoughts here towards him. 

As everybody said, it is just a matter of time when he will launch his own coin.

    Mark Zuckerberg's good opinion about blockchain technology is of particular importance. These giants in the technology world are real opinion makers. His opinion is relevant. Blockchain technology is revolutionary. If Facebook will launch a cryptocurrency, it will be a centralized one. I do not trust this centralized coin. I do not think facebook will launch a altcoins.

IIRC he announced this late 2017 during the bull run and was stated that he's still studying crypto and blockchain. And on latter of 2018, it's on the news that they have been hiring blockchain professionals which is an obvious act to understand that they will join and adopt the tech soon.

Creating a 'facebook coin' is likely but it's still a rumor, they have a large number of users so it will applicable to them. AFAIK, they have created sort of coins before during those restaurant city and farmville days.

it is far more interesting if Facebook creates its own crypto currency so that it might make it easier for me to put advertisements there, unfortunately the adverts must use bank payments and credit cards that I don't have in this world because I only have bitcoin

Better we still focus on what we did than to wait for something that is not clear. If Mark Zuckerberg really wants to launch his blockchain or coins, he will give the opportunity to some people to help him and create a project. Maybe the project will look like an ICO we saw before because that will provides benefits to them to attract more investor to join with them. Let see what will Mark do later and I am curious about the project itself.
