I don't understand why the local time of my profile is GMT? Would love to understand how to adjust it.

You can adjust this in your profile and then "Look and Layout Preferences".

Check these images below.

and then look for time offset and then find the "auto detect" button to detect automatically your local time.

after that click the "change profile"

Just in case you want to join any bounty in the future, I think leaving your forum time as GMT or the default forum time is better because most bounty use that as the global time. You'd miss a deadline accidentally if you set forum time to your local time. Many people do this kind of mistake when they join a bounty campaign.

Agree to that, its better to know what time is for forum itself not only because of bounty.
Its more universal that way, you will decide what suits you best, but that my advice.

Given that London controls most of the world's banking, GMT is probably the most useful time zone for international Bitcoin transactions.

Given that the Middle East controls the world's oil supply, Dubai time is probably the most useful when pumping gas. Wink

I disagree here. Given that Bankers don't like Bitcoin so much, it would be really dubious if GMT is the most useful time zone for Bitcoin transactions.
Maybe it's the most useful time zone to publish negative news about Bitcoin.  Wink

I did experienced missed a deadline accidentally and also because i'm busy at work and lost track of  what time is the deadline. Well, in my local time only hours are ahead from the GMT Time Zone and can track easily and won't miss a deadline (if not busy though).

I also disagree with you on this mate.
So giving that we are all in bitcoin talk forum and it has affiliations with bitcoin the forum default time setting would be advisable as that's what they recognize
