[NEED ADVICE] Comparing between STO & ICO

Well, as far as i know regarding this forum, i think, the most of people in here are bounty hunter.. compared with project dev or who have officially handling project..

So, i think i need some advice from member in here that who have joined this forum for long time.. i joined this forum in march 2018, and until now i never made a huge profit (let say is around $500+) when i doing bounty (the most reason is the price is not same as Ico price) in here.. i still hold my token more than 6+ month and not big change happen until now.. so i'll believe 2019 will be good..

If we have 2 option between ICO & STO,.

• what token who have big percentage of succeed for future? (I means succeed on market)

• what is the most interesting about 2 of them if you were an investor or bounty hunter?

STO seems better especially for investors for now because of some restrictions placed on it by SEC that made it impossible for them to scam people,and because of that,dev and team of STO has no choice than to come up with solid project.ICO seems to be a bad choice for now due to high level of fake project.

Well, its will be good for investor right ... that will be good if they put some restrictions too for hunter bounty.. in order to get quality of hunter and avoiding bounty cheater.. day by day, hunter is increase, so as cheating on bounty with multiple account/ fake follower/ fake viewer, etc..

I think, ICO must qualifying hunter who want to participate.. what do you think?

In most case, a security token is better than a magical token that does not have any underlying value. But the question is, who will give such valuable token to bounty hunters? Then, I'm also afraid that we need to do KYC every time we hunt.

In my opinion:
STO is good for real companies with a legit business model.
ICO is good for decentralized projects.

My prediction:
If there is any legitimate STO bounty, then the team would only give hunters a tiny percentage of tokens. Maybe 0.00000000000000X% LoL. Hunters are worthless, it's like love and hate relationship

I'm aware there are many new security token projects nowdays. As far as i know, security tokens are hard to get listed on exchange because of regulation of some countries. Big exchanges would rather not to list security token than getting banned from some countries.

STO is not that good. There are only few projects that can fully operate and make profit. It means only few projects are worth it to put your money as company share (security tokens) and get dividend. It also means that capital gain is overall better than dividend payment.

Summary, as long as a project can't established a profitable company yet. It's not good for us to invest on security tokens.

There was no a lot of differences, look at the fact when the STO shills were creating FUD to the ico and there was a lot of STO just like polymath has been doing the same thing like ico. Both still not yet registered in the regulators.
Remember when a lot of ICOs using TGE to replace it and that's the same thing.

STO and ICO are the same, what distinguishes them is only the function of the tokens they offer, but the price for the market will be the same, in this case all tokens / coins do not have a good price

From many many months we have terrible ico and bounty market and the situation is still the same on the other hand we may see improved market in coming weeks, to answer your question related to icos and stos i personally prefer fully compliant and regulated sto because we become part owner of the company or project in an sto while in an ico or utility token we do not have much stake other than to just wait and see to increase the price.

Blocktrade or Dx.Exchange is already operating. Blocktrade has MiFid II license which allows them to trade tokenized securities. CHX (WeOwn) will also go live this Q1 which will make tokenizing shares/securities quite simpler so that exchanging STO would become much easier. I'm sure those big exchanges will pursue the license if they want to stay in the game.

You're looking it the wrong way. Compared to most ICOs, STO is way better because it guarantees investor that they can have profits/dividends. I believe most investors will be happy for that even though the number of STO is small because in the end they only care about profit.

Of course, it's possible. How can you make sure that your data is not sold in the black market? KYC is a double-edged sword.

No, where you do your token sales doesn't have any guarantee that your project will be successful (in terms of price too). Even if it can pump the price, it won't last long.

Of course, it's possible. How can you make sure that your data is not sold in the black market? KYC is a double-edged sword.

it is not a double edge sword, it is a one edge sword which is only cutting one way, it cuts the users. otherwise it doesn't do anything else. there is no guarantee that the token that is asking for KYC is legit, they can be just as scammy as others and best case scenario is that they don't scam you but their token becomes worthless soon after you invest like many other tokens.

so in other words you give up your personal information and documents but don't gain anything extra in return!

Your data is expensive since it can be used to manipulate many things. For example, about consumer database. A bad company can pass your data as if you are its consumer to inflate its reputation and stuff. This unethical practice is quite common, and I consider this not that severe by the way.

The more severe case is that a bad actor can use your data to launder money (and tax evasion), or sold it to black markets (to create fake IDs to illegal immigrants).

It helps a little bit, but not much. Even small exchanges can provide "some" liquidity. It won't really help if the project is shit.

I prefer STOs than ICOs. Look how many ICOs offer utility tokens. Do you really want to use some utility token? And if yes, why would you invest into utility token as a very first investor? You can buy it everytime when you want to use the platform, but do not understand the investment potentional of utility tokens.
