MEW Android Wallet

Is myetherwallet android trusted? I never used it and I didn't know about it till now. Recently I got it from a telegram group. Is this app official? Can I use it with faith? Please share your experience with this app.

I have been using this wallet for some time now on my android device and it working perfectly OK it even allowed for security verification and that should send a signal to all that myetherwalet have strong security aim at combing security issues as it relate to the safety of wallet owners.

I would confirmed this is the official app of MyEtherWallet and I already installed it in my phone. However, I'm still using the browser based MyEtherWallet. But I will start using this app to access my wallet, because it's easy to use and convenient. This will lessen the risk of your wallet getting compromised or being a victim of phishing sites.

The main thing is to download the right application, as well as a normal wallet in General, although you should still give preference to more reliable wallets for storing large funds.

yes it is the official application launched by myetherwallet itself, you can access it on the official website Myetherwallet, MEWconnect is available in Playstore or Appstore

I just found out if there is an Android version of MEW, which I know MEW has only a website version and does not have an application, and if there is definitely a download link is stored on the myetherwallet website but until now it is not there, we can be sure it is fake

No, it is not fake, it is legit and officially launched from the Myetherwllet! The IOS version was released in 2018 and Android version just released on January 10. If you check the MEW official Twitter profile then you will realize this android app is real and it is getting positive responses.

after I read articles in the media about newconnect the mobile app version it actually came from the official mew. I think it's a good idea to reduce account theft by using phishing links, because I have experienced it

I will never trust directing to google play if I were you because there are lots of copycat applications out there. You better check that directly to MEW website and they will direct you to the real app. Honestly, i am surprised with this information you posted because i am not aware that MEW already has a mobile app. I thought that they will stay as an online ERC20 wallet but this looks more convenient than what we usually do on our MEW wallets.

Never heard of MEW's official android wallet. Maybe I check to verify and see it for myself.

But basing on the history of how many people has lost their coins in MEW due to hacks, phishing, DNS spoofing, I would say that everyone should be cautious as well.

Scammers/Hackers are very rampant so just used every precautions and secure your account.

I had no idea if this apps mate is trusted. But I would still used MEW on my desktop browser not on the android because its risky.
But I will try to use it sometimes but for now I'm not confident yet to apply or put some of my holding tokens. However, if this will become good to all users, I could say its a great news.

Please I will strongly advise you confirm from MEW team on twitter. There are many fake apps for MEW, so you don't lose your funds please. I understand everyone has been anticipating the official release of MEW app, due to phishing sites when using website  but don't get so excited and install the wrong one.

If on my android device I always use the imtoken application even now there is a version 2.0 only, I still use the first version because I don't know how to use it, try using the imtoken application because I have used it for two years and it is very safe.

Yes it is from their website but still in BETA version so not suggested to use at the moment from my view.

I used it and I explained my experience with it below

Here is my experience after used MEWconnect on Android.

When I open the app for the first time,I saw two options like create new wallet or restore old wallet from recovery seeds.I just used to create new wallet with encryption password only and after creating the NEW wallet it says the private keys will be stored in this device.So I closed the app and searching for the private key folder on my mobile,but can't find where it was stored.Then I thought these storage place will be given on the app so open the app again and entered encryption password but I can't login and even didn't find any tab to click after entering the password.

I only saw forget password option,when I entered into that it asked for recovery seeds.So I am stuck at this level.Maybe problem with my android version or the from Beta app.So I suggest you guys to make sure that you have your recovery seeds before depositing any ethereum into it.

Wow, I never knew that myetherwallet had released a mobile app, following the comments I have seen above so far, this app seems to be quite genuine, I am sure to download it, it would definitely be safer than logging into the web wallet.

Based on previous phishing attacks on the MyEtherWallet website, I have been hesitant about this premium wallet but with this release of the android version, I would add this to my collection of wallets as well. The interface looks very cool.

Really not aware about this myetherwallet app, just knew after this thread, but I feel android is not safe as windows or computer one. It might be risky to use app as compared to PC one as this is new app, if really launched.  It's efficacy should be known after 1 year of use by users.

It's useful and legit app for people who don't have hardware wallet. But if you have Trezor or Ledger or any other hardware wallet I don't see the necessity to use MEWConnect at all.

What a great idea! It is not a classic wallet. It is a hardware wallet! Yes, hardware wallet without hardware. You do not need to buy expensive Ledger or Trezor, with this app you will have same protection as hardware wallet has .

I don't know if MEW releases software for Android because so far, I only know MEW in the browser. And if that software comes from MEW, then it's better we install that wallet, so we don't have to open the browser to know what token we have. But be careful, although it's from MEW, you need to save your keys to prevent the bad things that might happen.
