A wallet is one of the files that contains your address and private keys, and is generated on your computer when you run the client software. I think you mean you want to download the client software?

(also applies to noob's post here)

You should be familiar with Bitcoin and how it works before you waste your time with the "alternate" currency forks that people have created.

Just as a heads up, Fairbrix is mostly abandoned and not worth investing in. Take a look at the other alternative cryptocurrencies and build your own educated opinion on all of them before deciding which one to go with.

Well, if you would not recommend Fairbrix... then what 2 or three types would you recommend besides Bitcoin?

This is purely my personal opinion, but the one I am involved with is Litecoin. It is unique in comparison to the others in that it has no "pre-mine", the creator didn't create coins for him self ahead of launch. There's more info on http://litecoin.org/.

That's the only one I'd recommend right now, but I'm heavily biased.
