Placed Bitmain order before knowing about KYC - ??

I was not aware of them requiring KYC in order to order, but then how was I able to place the order? I've already payed in bitcoin, will they refund me?

They have before I've heard, of course we KYC'd our business so have no practical experience to offer.

Did you get a confirmation email or status change from your profile? If not submit a ticket but about receiving your payment but I wouldn't mention KYC unless they do.

You had to check it, don't you know that almost every service requests KYC? Even shapeshift too. Bitmain has KYC for some months, as I remember from summer. Maybe try and email them to refund or wait if they ship without KYC documents but I have huge doubt that will happen, in both way they'll require KYC, your money will be in stuck for some time, before they verify you.

No. If you think logically, it makes no sense to have them ship your goods if you're not KYC verified. If they did ship, there wouldn't be a point to ask people to walk themselves through the KYC requirements....

It's ridiculous that you have to verify yourself for mining gear, but this is something we'll be seeing a whole lot more I'm afraid. I read an article where bulk GPU purchases may require some form of identification as well.

It's just that I've been able to place an order apparently, when now I see it says "customers cannot place an order unless they are verified". They've taken coins from me and now will refuse to ship? They better at least offer a refund or that will be theft.

What's the status of your order currently? Did you reach out to Bitmain? These aren't due to ship till later this month unless ordered prior to the current batch.

I think it's still weird that you have to go through KYC for buying mining hardware.
That's far from the same as using an exchange. It's ridiculous that you have to do KYC for almost anything in the cryptocurrency industry, other industries do not have these sorts of crazy requirements.

Op in the first place shouldn't be allowed to place an order 'cause that's basically trapping users :v

I'm not sure about the refund as it says it will not be entertained on the s15's payment section. Still would be best to contact their support about this, you might get an exception.

Well good luck on this one. Either buy from a reseller who's mined it for months or find a great sourcing company (shilling now) to KYC for you.
