Everyone can say what they want because this is a open and free market. And everything is possible as well, $1K is not the far and in just a couple of days of selling, the price could be reach. However, you have to question the reason behind of what these so called prominent crypto enthusiast (according to you) as saying that the price could hit that low. Take for example, Jamie Dimon's prediction last Sept 2017, his been attacking bitcoin but behind. they are buying literally tons of it when the price is dipping. So you don't have to believed everything to hear from this so called "prominent crypto enthusiast".

Many have the same sentiment that bitcoin will go down to the bottom of thousand us dollar per bitcoin or even worst at 80 us dollars each. However as the sentiment of many becomes more negative and hopeless this are the signs that bitcoin has already bottomed and will soon start its reversal that will reach an all time high. Hopefully that many are still holding their bitcoin and will soon see profit from their investment.

Because according to their calculations, or their crystal ball, they see a drop to $1000.

And who are these 'prominent enthusiasts' anyway? This is a very one-sided claim, I think. Because Ronnie Moas (in crypto since 2013) says it will be $28k by the end of this year; CCO of Bitpay says it's gonna be between $15k-$20k; Mike Novogratz says it will be $20k and so on. Some people say it will fall, others say it will grow. I hope the latter are right, because I am among those people who did not sell at $20k. I sell some btc now when I need money, but I also have some of it that I intend to hodl as long as it takes until the price is around $15k.

Sometimes I think such statements are only for their own sake, like average trader said in chat room on the exhanges "hey E** will pump tonight" or "Be aware S** are scam, sell it from now".

It's all over the place... you can see people predicting Bitcoin will go down to $1,000 and others saying it will go up to $100,000. Some will be right, but most will be wrong and there's no way to know it until it happens.

Right, so it's only speculation. It's not difference with me like say "I guess the price of bitcoin will be hit $20,000 gradually after down till $2000". Let's see it in the near future..

Well, the situation is negative and a waiting time is too long for recovery, all pushed a lot of people have strong faith in Bitcoin become people that have negative thoughts, they always think bitcoin will fall deeper and deeper, exactly they always think what's worst will happen. However, with the atmosphere and negativity too serious, reversal is very likely to happen as you say because whales understand people's psychology is no longer too patient, if they continue to push the price of bitcoin down, a lot of people will never come back, and whales will have no bait to continue to exist

Before this days, I never envisaged bitcoin could drop to $12,000. So after a massive fall without bottom in site, am now tempted to believe any predictions. My elder brother I introduced to bitcoin once had an horrible dream that bitcoin price went to zero-zero. He quickly cashout at $17,000, I laughed at him. all we have these days is a bunch of newbies trying to make what they have lost by creating content everywhere and trying to make money from that. for example their bullshit youtube  videos is a nonstop wave of worthless content trying to make pennies.

is it possible? yes.
can someone predict it? no.
anybody who does, is a newbie trying to gain some attention and temporary fame in case his shot in the dark hit the target. it is the same as all those other newbies who were saying bitcoin will reach $50k back when it was on the rise, and then called themselves "experts".

Perhaps they all want to influence people with these kinds of ideas and collect coins from cheaper price. Because, there is not enough evidence to make an idea about close to the right price prediction. The analysis is insufficient in the face of Crypto's obscurity. All I know is that Bitcoin is known by more and more people every day and this will bring us happy ending.

you created this thread and made your prediction (very pessimistic prediction). But you have not provided a single piece of evidence or a plausible argument that will provide some basis for your price forecast. You are making predictions based on your sense of pain. Bitcoin price in USD doesn't matter and nobody can predict it.

This is just your thought and prediction of bitcoin price not from any prominent enthusiast. This prediction has no prove, the thread is not communicating as its meaningless so I considered it as sheet post.

Who are these prominent enthusiasts who could foresee and predict things that well. if they are that good they would have made a lot of money in future trading. The fact is that the market can go either way and I won't be surprised if there is another bear rally downwards before the next rally, one thing is certain that everyone believes in another bull run that could cross yet another all time high valuation , but it is difficult to pin point the exact time of the rally until it happens.

It's very reminiscent of 2015. $1,000s and triple digits aren't the consensus yet, but we're definitely heading in that direction. The majority of people are finally bearish and expecting new lows.

The other thing I've noticed which reminds me of 2015......lots of crypto traders are charting forex now, because they're bored with crypto or can't churn gains out of this dead market. There was a lot of that during the post-crash doldrums last time around.

Don't be deceived by their words mate. The cryptospace is full of false news which only big players take advantage of this to buy cryptocurrencies from weak hands. We can have another dump in the price of bitcoin but $1000 is not a level i am expecting it to get to. This is the time to hold your bitcoins or better still buy more so that when the long awaited bull run comes up you can also earn some money from your investments.
