1. For mining, you don't; it is reserved for FPGA hobbyist to use it in "normal" application
2. The RAM is not included, depending on the application, you may chose different mem card (size, speed)
Note that our current mining algos don't need external memory

Interesting card, will keep my eye on this and maybe order one Wink

Two questions after looking through the specifications:

1. Simple USB only connection for mining, no need to mess with PCIe
What do you mean? Does it need to be put in a PCIe slot or not?

2. DDR4 260 pin SODIMM socket (170Gb/s max bandwidth, 32GB max capacity)
Is any ram included or do we need to add it to the card?

Thanks!

Any chance you will add support for Grin before all the ASICs hit?

Awesome and ambitious project, I am watching closely.
Wish you all the best with the indigogo crowd fund.

GRIN would be a great idea but perhaps too soon

Thanks for the reply. Do we still use the PCIe to connect to the computer / mining rig (like we do with videocards)?

Thanks! Grin
i hope this campaign can at least melt some ice, as i know people got really frustrated by what had happened.
we are ordering small quantity parts to make prototype boards. will keep everyone updated with progress

Only the power and USB would be sufficient. thanks

Regarding the hashrate table, are you referring to PascalCoin or Pascallite?
Because PascalCoin is no longer using Pascal/SHA256d algo.

It might mislead people, thinking your hardware can mine PascalCoin.

what's the difference between bcu1525 ?

how many SRAM on your FPGA?

thanks!

BUC1525 uses the low power version of VU9P fpga chip, we use KU3P, both are from the same 16nm Ultrascale+ product line, the major difference between is the size. in case of mining the hw resource matters the most is the system logic cell count. BUC1525 is 7 times larger than ours, ideally if fully utilized and optimized it should mine 7 times faster than ours. in reality it is almost impossible to fully optimize a bitstream design with 100% utilization of the fpga hw resource of the size of vu9p, so i bet a lot of waste and underclock going on there. so i estimate probably 5 times faster is more realistic...

do you mean block RAM? i attached this hw spec comparison, hope it helps! thanks

another difference i want to mention is that our board comes with the FREE vivado (bitstream compiler) license from xilinx, so you don't have to pay thousands of dollars to become a mining algorithm developer! we hope this can boost the 3rd party algo development and further benefit the community. we'd be happy to open source some bitstream design to support the process.

2/9 Updates:
We are in the process of ordering small quantity of FPGA chips to build a batch of UltraMiner demo boards for testing, verification and early review.

And good news! In order to support our development, Xilinx has offered to loan us UltraScale+ Kintex Evaluation Boards for free! (well, after they declined to give us further discount on the sample parts ordered...) These are $3K+ toys it would be of great help to expedite our bitstream development and testing! Hope we don't burn it!

You can update your info chart
Vertcoin has been updated to Lyra2rev3 so it will not work on your FGPA?
on Feb 1 https://medium.com/vertcoin-blog/vertcoin-development-update-january-2019-8dc39f6df210
and will be later updated to Verthash. In order to be  economically mine able by GPU 's ONLY (when no bear market).

The market as it is makes no sense to scam people. Scammers like when everything is too positive like it was in the end of 2017. Scamming people now is like committing suicide.

yes we have tested mainly on win 10 PC, but it works also on Mac and Linux. the host sw is easily portable.

Some good news! We have successfully secured initial fund from a strategic partner to launch the project and build first batch of UltraMiner FPGA prototype boards. We will be sharing the development progress in this thread and in discord channel as well.

Our indiegogo campaign is still going, I strongly encourage you to check it out and support us if possible, remember, we set the fixed goal, so if we don't meet the set goal you will get FULL refund from indiegogo platform.  but we will send special discount to all the early contributors next time when we re-launch the campaign on indiegogo or crowd source once demo boards are made!

for details about the goal refund, please check out this page:

Can you explain why one would choose Net or Net advanced versions? And which alogos will work on each of those?
