What would your dollar rate be for a simple manipulation, based on a turnover time of about 5 minutes (possibly up to 10 or 15, for an average professional  with only some experience)? For example, if I give a sample image (already royalty free) and it just needs some colour manipulation, or replacing or transposing of image A/B? If it's good work, I'd buy in bulk of 5/10 images, but order as it comes.

now regarding what you asked for a price on photomanipulation depends of how much details you want, but the base price will be in 1$-5$ per image. if you buy in bulk i will give you a discount, or maybe at 10 images i make one more, or two images for free.

Ok thanks, yes, that'd be much appreciated. My old guy doesn't seem to be active anymore. It's generally a few mins work and I don't mind helping out someone just starting out. I have PM'd you an address and contact, you can get in touch with either. If I like what I see, then yes, I'll be happy to make a pre-order.
