My friend is crowdfunding a Bitcoin Comic if anyone is interested! See first couple of pages completed on donation page. Should assist awareness/adoption of Bitcoin! He is telling the story from the start - 2008 GFC. Lightning payments are accepted! https://twitter.com/NoPerfectTime/status/1092687307897851904?s=19

Well you your friend can just complete the project then launch after you your friend is done done this would be a more transparent approach that won't raise any suspicion of extorting money form users

Totally understand why you'd say that, if you can come up with a way for me to prove he is in fact my friend besides KYC feel, free to share - I'll get him to make a post here for a start, as you can only have 1 account per IP address. In this case my friend is slowly paying for these drawings to be made. He has already put in his own money to get where he is now. I really don't think he's asking for unreasonable amount of money. 1 BTC at the current price will help but it's probably not going to be enough, he has already stated he will continue with his own funds regardless.

Hi kingpin, Unfortunately I am a terrible at drawing. I have paid an illustrator to complete the cover page and the first 2 pages, as you can see above. The funding is to cover the cost for the illustrator. I am glad you are suspicious, this is why I love the Bitcoin community, everyone holds everyone responsible. I am not too sure how else to prove this is a legitimate project.

I've been a Bitcoiner since 2014, I've seen my fair share of scams and lost decent amounts...agree with bitcoin2theEnd love how everyone calls each other out in this community. This is why I love Bitcoin and everything it stands for.

This can be a very helpful project and if done right and with monetization plans at hand this can be attracting some supporters. I am suggesting you to expound more so that prospects can see where the project is headed and the very marketplace it is targeting. I am sure that it can be easy to use the comics for some monetization so that it can be self-sustaining and even profitable in the long-run. Good luck on the project and more power to you guys!

Hey CryptoBry,
Thanks for the feedback.
If I produce 21 hard copies, I have an idea of linking them to Bitcoins blockchain for proof of ownership. This is still very experimental, really the whole thing is. If the comic goes okay it does become self-sustaining each issue should get better. With feedback from the community, each issue will improve.
I would love for some people to look over my theory for proof of ownership. I might create a website, put the info on that and put the link here. It's still very confusing and not bulletproof.
As for the comic storyline. My plan for the first volume is to follow Bitcoin from the whitepaper to now. Covering all the major milestones. Then the next volumes will be more specific, something like maybe following Andreas Antonopolus's story or a volume completely revolving around the hard fork or Lightning Network.
If there is anything else you want to know, let me know.
Thanks

I'll start to follow the episodes, I will be one of the people that will read your comics strip and I guess that's the only thing that I can help to you. When you have audience it will gain the attention of other readers which will help you to build up more of it. I have paid an illustrator to complete the cover page and the first 2 pages, as you can see above. The funding is to cover the cost for the illustrator.
How much you are paying for the illustrator? see to it that you're the original content owner of this or else there will be some artist or people that are also interested of making this idea, wishing you all the best for this bitcoin comic project.

Hi sunsilk,
Thanks for the support so far. Great to hear you will read the comics.
Also thanks for the advice about the original content owner, I will look into it.
I paid about $150 for the cover page. Do you think that is a fair price or did I get ripped off?

I wouldn't say that you got ripped off. The artwork isn't bad, but it's not exactly my taste either. Could you have found someone better and cheaper? Possibly, but I reckon it's somewhat difficult to find good artists that would work for less money.

This is very a beautiful and creative work. It will be useful for explanation of cryptocurrency to both adult and children during seminar or meetup.

from this comic, everyone can find out some risks when investing or putting your money in an investment place such as cryptocurrency or their bank is the same as having a game that will make the price easy to manipulate.

Wish you all the luck in creating the comics. I think you should put an ad for illustrator in "Services" section and try to find the like minded people. Instead of paying upfront you can come up with the %deal or partnership.

The idea behind the comic book is cool, and I could indeed be of interest to potential crypto users. An example that comes to my mind is the episode of The Big Bang Theory when we find out that out scientists and comic book fans were also mining Bitcoin once. What I am trying to say is that the target audience of crypto users and comic book readers might be roughly the same, so the getting these two things connected seems really perspective. However, it seems like the author's native language is not English, so there are some mistakes in the text, so I think you should have someone proofread the texts once you get enough funding. Good luck! Edit: Ooops, seems like you are a native speaker since you live in Australia. My bad, sorry. Perhaps the text is not that bad, but proofreading wouldn't hurt anyway.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I know my writing skills aren't the best. I do have a family member lined up who is a really good story writer, she will be proofreading all my work. I guess I didn't do myself any favours not getting her to proofread the 2 pages I have released. Wish you all the luck in creating the comics. I think you should put an ad for illustrator in "Services" section and try to find the like minded people. Instead of paying upfront you can come up with the %deal or partnership.
I like this idea and am very much open to partnering up with an illustrator in the Bitcoin space. I will post something in the services section. If anyone is interested or knows anyone who might be interested, let me know.

Loving the feedback! This project has a lot of potential in my opinion. I personally believe bitcoin2theEnd has the motivation and intellect to get momentum moving and make something big of it. A Bitcoin Comic could definitely contribute to adoption - Knowing why Bitcoin exists, is a key reason why we HODL it.

I don't have any more illustrations but here is a little teaser.
"Satoshi opens his laptop and stares at his email with a half-written sentence from weeks earlier."
"I’ve been working on a new…."
"Just as he is about to start typing."
"He is interrupted by the TV in the background."
