You should be really careful of any so called forks with Ethereum that are offering free coins, the previous two instances in early January were nothing more than scam coins asking for Private keys to receive what they were offering. If you are ever in the position to try this make sure that you have transferred all your coins to another address first.

It is of course either we see an uptrend or down trend in the price of ethereum. Ethereum since 2018 or even 2017, has remained a very volatile coin. So I won't be surprised to see any of the two happen i n a short space of time.

People forget that the initial 150+ was caused by the staking speculation. People bought ethereum from all the way down from 80 dollars into 150+ dollars because they thought buying ethereum would be the just the start and they would be earning interest from the ethereum they were keeping and some people even started to download the wallet and keep it there as well.

So, this new low caused by that affect, hard fork didn't happen and staking didn't come which resulted with the price suddenly dropping a lot. This increase is not an organic increase its just the correction from the drop. If that drop didn't happen the price would have been a lot today so that is why people realized the drop made ethereum worth less than what it is and they rebought it making it go back up.

Exactly!  All altcoin follow Bitcoin price. In details satoshi price up-down. Sometimes bitcoin fallen down and people gets disappointed and they are going for panic sell. Not only panic sell, they also act like kid. Be smart and take a look and focus on Bitcoin. After all you said the perfect words.
