Having finished one of the bounty companies, they ask me to do the following to get tokens


We believe that this distribution method is better than a normal air drop, as it minimizes
network overload prevents tokens from being sent to incorrect or inaccessible addresses
and ensures that only registered users can control their tokens.
To participate you will need:

● Access to the application page: here

● A small amount of ETH to cover gas costs
How to participate:
1) Open MetaMask.

URL, then click "Build proof." After confirmation, click Run.
4) MetaMask will ask you to confirm - confirm the transaction.

I hadn’t just met with someone like that before, and why they don’t just be sent out to their wallets and why they want to invent anything, I’m worried that the administrator can’t but contact, but I don’t trust them as a group

Some contracts may end up sending your funds to some other address if you confirm the signature of the Dapp and confirm the last pop up message too.
If you can, please send me the link from where you got that information and I check for you if it's safe or if it's scam

This way of spreading bounty revenue is also new to me. I don't see the need for this, as it should be enough to provide an ETH address.
If this is needed to minimize network overload this would be a hell of a large bounty campaign...

Trust your gut. If you don't trust this, don't act upon it.

I have encountered a similar bounty which happened to be a real one and I got the token after signing a single transaction that was meant to cover the gas fee, But you should know a few things with signing a signature on metamask is the same thing as authenticating a one time transaction ( Although depending on what task the transaction is meant to carry out) This one time transaction can steal all your assets and ETH at a go, if it is so programmed, but after that transaction has been executed the dApp will no longer have any access to your wallet unless you sign another signature.

To be on the safe side, I'd advice you to move your assets and ETH (leaving the few that'd be needed for the said gas fee to receive your bounty/airdrop) to another wallet if you think the tokens you want to get are important, or valuable.

Metamask wallet is a safe wallet based on my experienced, never had an issue yet using this wallet for almost a year.

You can add a new token in Metamask if you want to have the token listed on Metamask wallet by clicking the token tab.

The guide you share above to how to import an ethereum wallet is wrong. For me you need to make an account on Metamask plugin and importing private key to Metamask doesn't need "signing your address". I'm sure they won't ask for signing your address unless if it's a fake Metamask wallet.

Beware on following the guide. Giving your ethereum address is enough to receive your token.

Beware on phishing site or fake Metamask always make sure that you install Metamask directly from their original website from https://metamask.io/

To import, you'll either need your private key or that key in JSON format, you can choose either. I don't see anything fishy here as far as involvement of metamask is concerned. Still it's your choice to go for it (as you worked for it) or not (thinking that you don't have proper knowledge of metamask and so, could take any wrong step). This probably looks a verification mandate by bounty officials, don't really understand as to why they do it like that and complicate the process, it's not wrong but for a few (like you who questioned about it straight and others too) it'd make them think that there could be a possibility of a wallet hack.
I'm curious on one thing:
When you've worked for them already, why do they even need some ETH as gas from you, to pay you? Isn't it their responsibility to pay that?

I just looked at the contract address, Nothing malicious about it. Once you confirm the transaction from MetaMask, the airdrop tokens will be sent to you in minutes.
This whole process is probably done;

• So that they make sure it's your real address the tokens are going to be sent to.
• So that you cover the gas cost to receive the airdrop tokens... Their sending address had no gas(which is an unserious move for me to a team that needs to promote their tokens) but anyway, the gas cost average is 2 Gwei at the moment. so this should be a small amount for the transaction.
